00:00 It was about 8.45 last night that emergency crews were called here to the Tee Tree Plaza
00:06 O'Barn Interchange.
00:07 That was after a car had driven onto the O'Barn tracks and gotten stuck.
00:12 Now for anyone outside of South Australia may not know what the O'Barn is, but it is
00:18 a dedicated track for buses of South Australia's public transport network.
00:23 They are unique to South Australia, the only one of its kind in the country.
00:29 Unfortunately for commuters it's not an uncommon occurrence.
00:33 The driver had his car stuck and sustained quite a bit of damage to that car.
00:39 It did have to be towed from the tracks.
00:41 That driver returned a blood alcohol rating of 0.254, so more than five times the legal
00:48 limit.
00:49 He was taken to the local police station.
00:52 It was during that commute to the police station where he was allegedly assaulted a female
00:56 police officer and she has sustained minor facial injuries.
01:01 The driver, a 52-year-old man, he has been charged with drunk driving.
01:05 He's also been charged with aggravated driving without due care and also assaulting police.
01:11 He has lost his licence for 12 months and he will be facing court in March.
