00:00 Yo, yo, what's up GQ?
00:01 I'm Moses the Jeweler, and today I'm gonna break down
00:03 some of the more affordable watches
00:05 worn by celebrities today.
00:06 [upbeat music]
00:08 Timothee Chalamet.
00:15 We have Timothee Chalamet rocking a Cartier Panther.
00:19 It's a higher end piece, but it's not crazy.
00:22 It's very subdued, and he's actually wearing a lady size,
00:25 which I like also.
00:26 He makes other men feel comfortable
00:28 rocking a piece like this.
00:29 These are definitely way more affordable.
00:31 As you can see, I have a ladies Rolex over here.
00:33 So it'll only cost you around $4,000 leaving my shop,
00:36 as opposed to getting a 36 millimeter
00:39 and paying close to $7,000 on a piece like this.
00:41 He makes it cool to rock something like this,
00:44 and you're saving a lot more money.
00:45 This Cartier Panther retails for around 4K,
00:48 but you can find vintage ones like this
00:49 for close to the two brand range.
00:52 Will Ferrell.
00:53 Over here we have Will Ferrell wearing
00:56 a AORUS ProPILOT X400.
00:58 Has a little pinkish hue to it,
00:59 which the first thing that I thought
01:00 was the Oyster Perpetual Rolex.
01:02 Of course, for these special colors,
01:04 you can be paying a much higher price.
01:05 And this AORUS is very similar to it,
01:07 and you're gonna pay 1% of the price
01:10 you would pay for the Rolex.
01:11 I think he wore this one at the Barbie premiere,
01:13 which I love that he got creative,
01:16 and he wore something that has that pinkish hue
01:18 at the Barbie premiere.
01:19 He's having fun with everything.
01:20 If you're looking to spend under $5,000
01:22 for a gorgeous watch, this one costs close to $4,000.
01:26 I'm a Rolex guy, so if I were to buy any watch,
01:29 at that 5,000 range and under,
01:31 I'd go with a simple Rolex Datejust 36 millimeter.
01:34 This one I would let go for $4,000 right now.
01:36 This is a 1601 vintage piece.
01:38 Nice tight band.
01:39 It's not like you're gonna get something
01:40 that's crazy beat up and barely wearable.
01:43 You get some of these gorgeous pieces
01:44 that are extremely durable and made to last a lifetime.
01:47 Tyler, the Creator.
01:47 He's always doing something cool, something different.
01:51 Definitely a very fashionable guy.
01:53 You know, Tyler, the Creator,
01:54 he's known for his crazy Cartiers.
01:56 They said a Casio quartz, which very classic.
01:58 Rubber strap.
01:59 I like the patina dial,
02:01 that little patina yellow dial, it's kinda cool.
02:02 A Casio like this, you can find this for under $30.
02:06 Very cool, very sporty.
02:08 Tyler, the Creator's rocking in a luxurious way.
02:10 Costed him basically a sandwich and some chips.
02:15 Kid Cudi.
02:15 We got a Kid Cudi rocking his G-Shock Bape watch.
02:21 Extremely colorful, extremely fun.
02:23 You see he's rocking it with his pink hair.
02:25 Very retro vibe, which this is more my style.
02:29 So if I were to go for an affordable watch,
02:31 this is definitely the first one on my list.
02:33 That's the cool thing with G-Shock,
02:34 is that it's a watch that was done for the military,
02:36 something that you see soldiers wearing,
02:38 and then you got somebody like Kid Cudi,
02:40 who's an A-list celebrity, rocking this quartzite.
02:42 G-Shock's an abbreviation for gravitational shock.
02:45 The G-Shock was basically designed
02:46 to just be an extremely resistant watch,
02:48 something that you can literally fight wars with
02:51 or go hiking with or do all this crazy stuff.
02:54 So for a very small amount of money,
02:56 you can get something that will be very durable,
02:58 something that'll probably last you a lifetime.
03:00 Just needs a battery change once in a while.
03:02 G-Shock's a timeless watches.
03:03 You got a Spike Lee rocking one,
03:05 quartzite at the Knicks game, wearing the Knicks colors.
03:08 Cool thing about G-Shock also is
03:09 they're always doing these collaborations with celebrities.
03:11 There was a collab with Ed Sheeran that I really loved.
03:14 There was this like yellow and black G-Shock,
03:16 which again, pops.
03:17 Always be on the lookout for some of these cool collaborations
03:19 that G-Shock does.
03:20 You know, some of these pieces,
03:22 just like Rolex goes for a premium,
03:24 these G-Shock collabs also go for
03:26 almost double to triple premiums over its retail value.
03:29 Steph Curry.
03:31 Greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry.
03:34 Luxury, clean, sleek.
03:37 You have the Movado Museum Classic watch, and I love it.
03:40 It kind of reminds me of the Onyx dial that Rolex does,
03:43 but it's not gonna break your bank.
03:44 You have your Movado that has no hour markers,
03:47 except for the big gold circle at 12.
03:49 And I also love the shape of the hands.
03:51 I think it's a very clean watch.
03:52 This is something that I'll add in a collection
03:54 any day of the week.
03:55 It's a lot of watch for a little amount of money.
03:58 Steve Jobs.
03:59 We got Steve Jobs here, a legend.
04:02 Over here, he's wearing a Seiko Quartz.
04:04 Honestly, he's making me wanna get one right now.
04:05 Looks cool, looks vintage, looks classic.
04:08 Fire piece.
04:09 And the cool thing is,
04:10 when you are somebody like Steve Jobs
04:11 and you wear this watch,
04:12 his watch went in auction for $42,000.
04:16 Making something that was probably under $100 ago
04:18 for that amount.
04:19 It shows you that the value is inside the person,
04:21 not in the watch.
04:23 P Davidson.
04:24 Rocking over here, Casio Classic.
04:27 Classic Casio look.
04:29 Tells the time digitally.
04:30 And you got that whole black look, it's clean.
04:33 Put on his hoodie, throw on that watch,
04:35 and it's a comfy look.
04:36 It's a lot of watch for a small amount of price.
04:39 And this one looks like a G-Shock.
04:40 Actually, I thought it was a G-Shock,
04:42 but it costs way less.
04:43 This one will run you around like $42.95.
04:46 Mark Wahlberg.
04:49 Timex.
04:50 It's another legacy watch brand
04:52 that makes an affordable timepiece.
04:54 As we see here, we got Mark Wahlberg
04:55 rocking a $77 Timex Ironman.
04:58 Again, cool look.
05:00 Sleek, black, subdued.
05:02 I like to tell the time digitally sometimes.
05:04 You don't gotta look so deep into
05:06 seeing where the hand is at and everything.
05:07 Over here, you read the time, it's that easy.
05:10 Jack Nicholson.
05:11 You have somebody like Jack Nicholson,
05:14 probably one of the greatest actors of all time,
05:16 who can afford any piece,
05:18 sitting here rocking a Timex Easyreader.
05:21 I love it.
05:23 Looks like a classic watch.
05:24 Looks like something that could be expensive
05:25 if it said Patek Philippe.
05:26 Over here, it says Timex, and it's extremely affordable.
05:29 And you got legends like Jack Nicholson rocking it,
05:31 so why not you?
05:34 Bill Murray.
05:34 I think Bill Murray got a little jealous of Jack Nicholson.
05:38 He said, "I need one also."
05:39 So over here, we got him rocking also a Easyreader.
05:42 A little bit different than the other one that was worn.
05:44 This one has the silver secondhand.
05:45 I like the contrast in the watch.
05:47 You have the white dial,
05:48 you have the silver bezel and the silver lugs,
05:51 with the black hands and the black numbers.
05:53 I think it's a nice contrast.
05:55 This is a everyday watch to rock and enjoy.
05:57 We have all the rappers now rocking two watches on the wrist.
05:59 I think Bill Murray's the first one to do it.
06:01 He's got a Cartier on his left hand,
06:03 he's got a Timex on his right hand.
06:05 I love it.
06:05 Trendsetter.
06:07 Ronny Chieng.
06:08 Sometimes the biggest flex is rocking something
06:11 that you find in an antique shop.
06:12 Here we have Ronny Chieng,
06:14 rocking a vintage Mickey Mouse watch,
06:16 pushing boundaries over here.
06:17 Rocking a nice velvet green suit jacket.
06:21 And then he threw on this Mickey Mouse watch.
06:22 You can tell he's just having fun with it.
06:24 He said, "I'm gonna come to this classy event
06:26 with this Mickey Mouse watch."
06:27 And that's the cool thing with these watches.
06:29 Don't be afraid, if you're not a celebrity,
06:30 don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone
06:33 and do something like this.
06:34 This is fun and it's definitely a comfortable starter
06:36 at any of these events.
06:37 You know, you don't always have to like
06:38 rock name brand pieces.
06:39 Like a lot of people, they show off,
06:40 "Oh, my Richard Mille is numbered to 75."
06:43 You can't find another one.
06:44 I don't think you're gonna find another one
06:45 of these vintage Mickey Mouses also.
06:47 That's the real flex here.
06:48 I hope after watching this video,
06:53 you guys understand that the watch game
06:54 is not only for the rich and famous.
06:57 It's for everyone, like you and I,
06:59 that you can find yourself some gorgeous watches
07:01 from $100 to $1,000.
07:03 Again, knowledge is power.
07:05 Moses the Jeweler, out.
