00:00 In 2023, some of the biggest fitness trends consisted of #hotgirlwalks, hit workouts and
00:09 even saw some create tailored gym routines on AI technology such as ChatGPT.
00:15 But what are some of the sporting trends forecasted to be most popular in 2024?
00:19 Well according to the Polar Journal, it's thought more and more people will continue
00:23 on their holistic fitness journeys.
00:25 Holistic fitness finds a connection between the body and the brain during exercise and
00:30 includes the likes of Tai Chi, Yoga and the ever popular Pilates.
00:35 Speaking of which, Reformer Pilates is thought to be adopted by many more as of 2024 as people
00:40 aim towards building a stronger core and building better posture and balance.
00:45 Hiking is reported to be another popular one this year, a great one to get the calories
00:49 burning whilst also building up the muscles in your thighs and calves.
00:54 And as an added bonus, getting out in nature can help mental health as much as it does
00:58 your physical.
00:59 In 2023, Pinterest saw a 265% rise in searches for kickboxing and a 200% increase in interest
01:06 for mixed martial arts training.
01:08 As a result, combat sports might be making a comeback.
01:11 I think people that struggle to motivate themselves think that the people they see on Instagram
01:16 like me who are training quite a lot, we just really want to do it and we love it and we
01:21 wake up buzzing to train.
01:22 That's not the case.
01:23 Nobody enjoys, nobody likes the feeling of I'm about to train.
01:32 People like the feeling of after they train and that's what they need to get in their
01:35 head.
01:36 This is how I'm going to feel after.
01:38 So that's why I'm going to get up and do it.
01:40 But you're not meant to be excited to work out.
01:42 I mean, if you are, then hats off to you.
01:44 But I'm never excited to work out.
01:46 I'm just excited for the way it's going to make me feel after.
01:48 With wearable tech increasing in popularity over the past decade, people continue to have
01:53 their data personalised in order to reach their fitness goals.
01:57 And with AI on the rise, tailoring nutrition plans and workout schedules might just be
02:01 made that tiny bit easier.
02:03 I read once that you should eat 2.2 grams of protein for every kilogram you weigh and
02:12 that will help you gain muscle if that's what you're trying to do.
02:17 Protein obviously helps muscles repair, it's good for bones, it helps you perform better.
02:20 So just try and eat as much of it as you can.
02:23 Just make sure it's in your diet as well as other good foods.
02:28 For me, I love getting a protein hit after I train and sometimes after training you're
02:32 not in the mood for a big meal like a big chicken breast or fish or whatever.
02:36 That's the beauty of training I think.
02:38 You don't want to be doing the same thing.
02:39 I'll play a bit of paddle tennis, a bit of golf, a bit of football, go for walks with
02:43 dogs, go for runs outside, go for runs inside, hip workouts inside, weight sessions.
02:48 I just like to do all different forms of exercise, boxing, because if you do that you won't get
02:52 bored doing the same thing.
02:54 And just know that it's tough.
02:56 You know why you don't want to train, because it's cold and whatever, but just say to yourself,
03:00 once I've done it, I'm going to feel amazing.
