00:00 It was cold winter time.
00:01 Come on.
00:01 She was all alone out there.
00:02 Come on.

00:05 I'm Danielle, and this is Freya's story for GeoBeats.
00:07 It was around eight weeks old when she was found outside.

00:12 It was just Freya, no other kittens, no mama, just her.
00:16 She was climbing up someone's window screen,
00:18 and they turned her into the rescue.
00:20 They had her for quite a while to get her healthy.
00:22 When we adopted her, she was almost four months.
00:25 What?
00:27 You meowing?
00:28 As soon as we got her home, she came right out of her carrier,
00:31 and she leaned right up against me and wanted love and pets.
00:34 She was like right at home.
00:37 Even with my dog, she went right up to him
00:39 and laid right between his arms within the first five minutes.
00:44 When we first got her, she would like try to meow,
00:47 but nothing would come out at first.
00:49 And then she finally started finding her voice.
00:53 What are you saying?
00:54 She does these tiny little squeaky meows.
00:58 She can literally have conversations.
01:00 If you talk to her, she will meow back.
01:01 Got a lot to say?
01:04 She's super easygoing, loves everybody, loves to explore.
01:09 We take her outside all the time.
01:12 She goes on vacations with us.
01:14 We do a lot of hiking with her.
01:17 She asks to go outside all the time.
01:19 She'll meow for hours to try to go outside.
01:22 You can't go out.
01:24 She actually destroys our carpet a little bit,
01:26 digging by the front door.
01:28 It's too cold today.
01:30 She gets this sad girl meow where
01:32 it's almost like a lower tone.
01:34 Are you ready?
01:35 You want to go outside?
01:37 How bad?
01:40 You can just tell how happy she is out there.
01:42 A lot of people we've gotten like, is that a dog?
01:52 Oh my gosh, a cat.
01:53 She doesn't really actually meow to other people,
01:57 but she's very comfortable with people.
01:59 If she does get nervous, she turns and looks right at me.
02:01 She knows that I'm going to protect her.
02:03 They are so close.
02:10 He will stop and wait for her to catch up.
02:12 They cuddle together at night.
02:19 They lay together and look out the window.
02:21 You can hold her like a baby.
02:23 She loves to sit on my shoulder,
02:24 but she wasn't very cuddly until recently.
02:27 Ria, mousie.
02:29 Yes.
02:29 She's actually been starting to sleep in bed with us,
02:32 and she'll make biscuits on your legs.
02:33 So she's starting to get cuddly.
02:35 Banana.
02:36 Yes.
02:37 She is a very fluffy, long-haired kitty.
02:40 We like to say that she has sideburns,
02:43 because she has her little orange face,
02:45 and then she has that black going around her face.
02:51 She truly changed my life.
02:52 I can just look at her little orange face,
02:59 and she brings me joy every day.
