00:00 They probably talked to you enough here in the year,
00:02 but they're glad they don't need to come talk to you right now.
00:05 >> I don't know, I mean, you put me between the Warriors and even the quarterback.
00:07 I don't think I'm getting much press.
00:10 >> Do you know the number of consecutive starts for you?
00:13 >> It's 40 something.
00:14 >> It's like 44.
00:15 >> Yeah, something like that.
00:18 >> What did it take to start 44 consecutive games,
00:20 43 consecutive games at the University of Georgia?
00:23 >> A lot of hard work.
00:28 In all honesty, I don't think there's been many times in my career,
00:33 Georgia I've had more than one day off at a time.
00:37 So typically in my time at Georgia,
00:39 I was working out or doing something six, seven days a week.
00:42 So definitely a lot of hard work and a lot of favor from God in all honesty to
00:46 stay healthy and just be, I was really fortunate in all honesty
00:50 to not really have substantial injuries, more nicks, bruises, aches,
00:56 pains, those type things, but nothing broken, nothing torn.
00:59 So I'm extremely grateful for what God has given me.
01:02 >> Coach always talk about the difference between being hurt and injured.
01:06 >> Yeah. >> I'm sure you played hurt a lot of those
01:08 44 games.
01:10 What does it require like pain tolerance wise to play this game if you could
01:14 talk to a normal person right quick?
01:16 >> In all honesty, I think it's more or less not pain tolerance.
01:21 In my opinion, I think it's more so functionality.
01:24 I think it's how functional you are.
01:26 If you can function with that injury or hurt, however you wanna put it.
01:29 If you can function with that, I think that you should play, in my opinion.
01:33 If you can be effective out there, I think you should play.
01:34 But if you're gonna put your team in a bad situation,
01:38 I think at that point, there's no point in you playing.
01:41 >> You understand that separating pain tolerance from functionality
01:44 kind of automatically states that you have a high pain tolerance, right?
01:47 Cuz you probably do that.
01:49 >> Probably. >> You can separate functionality from
01:51 pain, cuz pain is still there for most people.
01:53 >> I mean, yeah, but at the same time though, if I can still go.
01:57 >> Yeah.
01:58 >> It can't hurt that bad.
02:00 >> I feel you.
02:01 I feel you on that.
02:01 So when you're looking at Florida State, man,
02:03 several interior defensive linemen have already opted out for them.
02:07 How are you preparing for this football team,
02:09 knowing that you don't really know what you're gonna get?
02:12 >> I know they have a bunch of good guys up front, I know that much.
02:14 At the end of the day, they're 13 and no conference champion.
02:18 They recruit well.
02:20 They're in the state of Florida, which gets a lot of recruits and
02:23 has a lot of talent in it.
02:25 So at the end of the day, they'll have somebody show up that'll be really good.
02:29 And I think the beauty of it is they can completely go to a different scheme if
02:33 they really want to because of everything that they have going on.
02:36 They really want to, they can switch up all of the tendencies,
02:39 they can switch up whatever they've been doing.
02:41 Excuse my wallet drop.
02:42 And that's just, I think, the beauty of the game.
02:46 You never know what you're gonna get.
02:47 So I think the biggest thing is watching as much film as possible.
02:50 They have 13 games up there for you to watch.
02:52 You can watch them as many times as you want.
02:54 So it's completely up to you.
02:55 And I know a lot of people, they probably turn the game off when it's full court or
02:59 block.
02:59 They've had a couple games like that.
03:01 I think it's very important to watch those games and watch every step.
03:05 Because if you know the guys that potentially can play, you've seen reps on.
03:09 >> It's almost where you're seeking out those blowout football games on film,
03:13 I would imagine, to see these backups that probably don't play in tightly contested.
03:17 >> A little bit, a little bit.
03:18 You kinda gotta go back and watch some of the, like yesterday,
03:22 I kinda glanced over the Southern Miss game.
03:24 They won that game by a large margin.
03:26 And just kinda seeing some of the guys that they had in the depth chart.
03:29 And some of the things that we may end up seeing at some point in the game.
03:32 Not saying that they'll start or whatever, but
03:35 at some point you'll probably see some of these guys.
03:36 So I think it's just important to have some film on.
03:38 >> Already accepted an invitation to the senior bowl.
03:42 We would presume that means this is your last game at the University of Georgia.
03:46 Is that safe to assume?
03:48 >> It's tough for me because I think I still need to have some more
03:51 conversations with my parents, especially my pops.
03:54 It just kinda just weighed my options.
03:55 I think that's probably the best thing for me to say right now.
04:00 >> What has it meant to have played at Georgia these four years for you?
04:05 >> Man, I'm extremely grateful.
04:09 Extremely, extremely grateful that they gave a kid from New Orleans a chance.
04:13 Georgia does not have a great history with kids coming from Louisiana,
04:18 flipping and transfer portal and stuff like that.
04:21 No shade to any of the other guys.
04:23 But the point I'm trying to make is Coach Smart had the opportunity to look
04:27 somewhere else.
04:27 He had the opportunity to go and find another center, get somebody else.
04:30 But I'm just extremely grateful that he gave a guy from New Orleans,
04:34 Louisiana a chance to be able to play for the dogs.
04:37 >> Appreciate you, sir.
