From the Las Vegas Raiders Locker Room DE Malcolm Koonce Indianapolis Week
Transcript
00:00 >> Exactly.
00:00 >> [LAUGH] >> Last week you told us that you
00:06 remember each one of your sacks that you've had in the NFL career.
00:10 So take us through the three that you had.
00:13 >> Okay, all right, so the first sack, the play before,
00:17 I tried to do an outside club, but then I slipped.
00:20 So then I kinda knew that he was kinda waiting on that, so
00:24 I kinda had the same edge, I had the same position.
00:26 Remember Robbie all week told us the difference maker of this game is what you
00:31 do at the top of the rush.
00:32 So then once I got to the top of the rush, I kinda just saw a pat and
00:36 he was kinda looking like he was about to step up, so I just spinned aside.
00:38 Got the sack.
00:39 The second one, I think that was when I pushed him out of bounds.
00:44 I didn't know it was a sack until he told me to leave the game.
00:46 I just pushed him out of bounds.
00:50 >> [LAUGH] >> And then the last one, again,
00:53 I did a swipe, beat him clean, I slipped.
00:56 And then Max came through and got Patrick Mahomes to kinda like,
01:02 around and then once I saw that, I knew it was my time, so I popped right up.
01:05 But the floor was hot.
01:07 >> You talked about kinda slipping.
01:09 You talk about the weather conditions you had to go through.
01:11 How hard was it to relentlessly rush like that on wet conditions against a guy
01:15 like Patrick Mahomes?
01:17 >> [LAUGH] >> I'm sorry, what was your question?
01:22 How hard was it to have to get after Patrick Mahomes as much as you did,
01:25 especially with the weather conditions?
01:27 >> I would say it's always hard to get after him,
01:29 even our first game with the ground wasn't slick and stuff like that.
01:32 So I just think that what it comes down to is just four, one,
01:36 just everybody covering everyone, and you just kinda just run it all day.
01:40 >> How much pride did you guys take in the fact that he was on skates all game long?
01:44 He had over 900 yards he ran with still 11 minutes left in the game.
01:48 >> We knew it was a big focus in the game.
01:49 So once we started getting rolling, started getting some of those,
01:54 making plays and getting momentum and stuff like that,
01:58 it just kept on going, kept on going to the bottom.
02:01 >> How excited are you for the opportunity for the next two weeks for
02:03 you guys to win these games and the world's right in front of you?
02:07 >> We're super excited, just trying to take one game at a time.
02:09 We're not trying to think about big picture and stuff.
02:12 >> Talking about one game at a time,
02:14 this is a coach team that you've played two times since you've already been here,
02:18 and you've been in this locker room.
02:19 So what do they offer in terms of weapons on offense,
02:22 things you shouldn't be worried about?
02:23 >> Definitely a good team, they have a great running game.
02:26 So talk about last week, it was more pass heavy.
02:32 So this week, we're not gonna be able to pass rush unless we stop the run.
02:35 So we're gonna be talking about that.
02:37 >> Talking about stopping the run, first, like a one dimensional.
02:40 How good of a running back do you believe Jonathan Taylor is?
02:43 >> I think he's a really good running back, and you gotta watch out for him.
