00:00 Hi, I'm Katie and this is my mom.
00:02 Denise Austin, and we are so excited to be here
00:05 with Women's Health.
00:06 And today we are finding out who is more likely to.
00:12 Oh, absolutely, my mom is way more likely
00:19 to wake up earlier and she wakes up at 5 a.m.,
00:22 bubbly as ever, no coffee needed.
00:25 I love to wake up early.
00:26 I feel energized.
00:28 I start my day with a little cup of coffee
00:30 and go for a walk and feel so much better.
00:33 So I am definitely a morning person.
00:35 Yeah, but it's really not fair
00:36 because she goes to bed by like 8.30.
00:38 No, 9.30.
00:40 Yeah, cute.
00:40 I ain't that old.
00:41 Me, I am more likely, unfortunately,
00:48 to spend more time on Instagram,
00:49 but it's actually not Instagram.
00:51 It's Snapchat and TikTok for me.
00:52 Oh, I don't spend that much time on Instagram.
00:56 My mom is the first one to view my stories
00:58 and like anything I post.
00:59 Well, you're my daughter.
01:01 Of course I do.
01:02 It's my favorite thing to see what you're up to.
01:04 Oh, Katie is the best cook in the whole wide world.
01:11 She's been cooking since she was a little girl.
01:13 When I used to go film my TV show,
01:15 my husband and her older sister would be home
01:18 and she would make dinner for both of them all the time.
01:22 I'm a really big pasta girl,
01:24 but I throw in so many vegetables.
01:26 So I love to put zucchini, carrots,
01:28 shred seriously any vegetable in my pasta sauce
01:30 just to sneak in some extra nutrients.
01:32 You even shredded carrots in it and it tasted so good.
01:36 But I did learn from my mom's side of the family.
01:39 We have a really big family.
01:40 She's one of five and your grandma cooked a lot.
01:44 Your mom cooked a lot.
01:45 And so she actually comes from a lot of cooks in the family.
01:48 And so I learned from the best.
01:49 We love it.
01:50 It's traditional in our family to cook.
01:52 Most every single night for our family.
01:55 And Sundays, we have Sunday suppers
01:57 and everybody comes over and it's so much fun.
02:00 Sometimes we have up to 40 people at the house
02:03 just for dinner.
02:04 Oh, me.
02:09 Me.
02:10 I'm really good now.
02:11 I played tennis growing up
02:13 because my dad was a professional tennis player.
02:15 There's five Austins that all played professional tennis.
02:18 Tracy Austin, she won US Open twice.
02:21 The youngest ever.
02:22 In the history of tennis.
02:24 So I played tennis my entire life.
02:26 I understand pickleball is a lot different,
02:29 but I would have to say me.
02:31 Why would you say you?
02:32 Well, 'cause I've been playing a lot lately.
02:36 But I enjoy it and everyone should try it.
02:39 It's so much fun.
02:40 It's so social.
02:41 It's community and everyone can do it.
02:44 That's very, very true for every fitness level as well.
02:46 So I think from that answer,
02:48 we're gonna have to battle it out.
02:49 You're probably the better.
02:50 I'll figure that out later.
02:52 You, by far.
02:56 She has the cutest clothes in the whole wide world.
02:58 She always has these amazing dresses.
03:01 I love to go to her house and try on all the dresses.
03:04 She's got the cutest clothes.
03:05 And honestly, I'm happy to lend her my clothes.
03:08 Just this past weekend, we had my engagement party
03:10 and I brought her a few dresses to wear.
03:12 She could just step up her style sometimes.
03:14 So I'm just there to help her out.
03:15 Yeah, I understand that
03:17 'cause I don't go shopping too often.
03:19 My mom buys nothing, you guys.
03:20 She literally does not buy anything.
03:22 She just takes anything from my sister and I
03:24 and then gives it back,
03:25 which is actually very cost-effective.
03:27 Oh, definitely me.
03:33 I love to dance.
03:34 And I just think it just brings the energy to the room
03:37 no matter what you're doing.
03:38 It's just having fun.
03:39 Who cares what you look like?
03:40 She keeps me young.
03:43 Oh, definitely me.
03:48 I have really, really great songs in my workout playlist.
03:51 My mom has two amazing songs.
03:54 If you ask my mom, "What do you work out to?"
03:56 For the last 30 years, it's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"
03:59 or "Walking on Sunshine."

04:02 Oh, and I love Bruce Springsteen.
04:03 I have a story about not pressing record.

04:11 She thought green means go, stop means stop.
04:14 My entire graduation's in her purse and on her feet.
04:18 So she's definitely more likely to forget to hit record.
