A CAR CUSTOMISER has built a spectacular Chevrolet low rider boasting over 600 custom parts. Chris Roark, from California, has transformed a 1958 Chevrolet Impala after his previous show-winning car, called The Perfect Score, was destroyed in a crash. Chris told Barcroft TV: “The Perfect Score was a three time Lowrider Magazine show winner and, on our third title coming home, we were cut off and we got swiped over onto the embankment. The trailer came loose from our toe rig and the car was totalled. That loss, it was very, very tough.” After the accident the other members of the Tradicionals Car Club encouraged Chris to create another car in honour of The Perfect Score. From there, The Final Score was born. The impressive lowrider was customised in every way possible with Chris estimating there is close to 600 custom machine parts in the car. This included the door handles, which were shaped for pop doors. The interior was made with full leather ostrich skin, with custom logos engraved on the seats. And everything matches, with the whole engine was engraved to match the outer pinstripe paint. Even the motor was customised, a LS1 that came out of a mid-80s Corvette. Chris told RIDICULOUS RIDES: “When I look at the Final Score, I see engineering, craftsmanship and detail.” Despite the success of the original lowrider, Chris’s fans weren’t immediately approving of his new build. Chris explained: “A lot of people didn't take to it when it first came out. They were like, ‘What is this?, this doesn't look good, what are the colours that are mixing?’ “But a couple years went by and now you start to see a lot of people starting to entertain all these different colours.” The lowrider has built up a legion of fans, but will Chris continue building these cars? He said: “It’s tough as you get older, you slow down. I have my son and my nephew that are young guns and they've been keeping the fire under me to keep me going.” Chris’s son, Chris Jr is now leading the next generation of car customizers. Chris Jr told us: “My favourite part of the low rider is when you could get in it and drive, put the top down, just have fun. And they're different, they're unique, not everyone likes low riders, but everyone has their own different tastes. I just like to be behind the wheel and feel the creation of building something that’s unique like this.”

00:00 The final score is amazing. When I look at the final score I see engineering,
00:08 craftsmanship, and detail.
00:12 The perfect score was a three-time Lowrider Magazine show winner and on our
00:20 third title, "Coming Home," we were cut off and we got swiped over onto the
00:27 embankment and the car was totaled. All the club members came over and they all
00:32 said, "Chris, you need to come out and do something to honor the perfect score."
00:37 Out of the ashes of tragedy came a new Lowrider destined to make history.
00:42 That's when the final score was born in honor of the perfect score. My car's name
00:48 is the Final Score.
00:52 It is a '58 Impala Chevrolet. When I look at the final score I see
01:02 engineering, craftsmanship, and detail. For all of the fame of his original
01:08 Lowrider, Chris's fans weren't immediately approving of his new build.
01:14 A lot of people didn't take fair to it when it first came out. They were like,
01:21 "What is this? This doesn't look good. What are the colors they're mixing?"
01:26 But a couple years had went by and now you start to see a lot of people
01:31 starting to entertain all these different colors. This impressive Lowrider
01:36 is customized in every way possible.
01:41 So we got right here a custom mural. We have our car club plaque here fully
01:48 engraved. So as we go through the car we'll make our way to the interior now.
01:54 Door handles were shaved so we have pop doors. Ostrich skin in here with our
02:00 custom logo engraved in the badges. Custom steering wheel here with the
02:05 custom machined Impala emblem and flags. All our knobs match and they're all gold
02:10 leaf. Custom floor mats if you look and the custom pet gas pedals and speaker
02:15 covers. Dakota Digital dash which was at a custom piece I believe.
02:22 Even the motor was customized. The motor of the final score is an LS1 that came
02:32 out of a mid-80s Corvette.
02:40 The whole engine's engraved to match, painted to match, pinstripe, everything
02:46 matches the rest of the car. There's so much custom parts on this I want to say
02:51 what were we up to last time when we counted like probably close to 600
02:55 custom machined parts in this car alone. Top speed easily probably 120 mph.
03:03 Having left behind the shadow of the perfect score this Lowrider now has no
03:09 shortage of fans. This gets everyone's heads turning when it comes out so you
03:18 know if you go into a busy area it's gonna grab a lot of attention. But with a
03:26 car called the final score one has to ask is this the final Lowrider Chris
03:32 will build. When would I ever stop building Lowriders? I think I have tried
03:40 to stop. It's been tough as you get older you slow down. I have my son and my
03:46 nephew that are young guns and they they've been keeping the fire under me
03:50 to keep me going. My favorite part of a Lowrider is when you can get in it go
03:55 and drive put the top down just have fun and they're different they're unique
04:00 not everyone likes Lowriders but everyone has their own different tastes
04:05 and I just like the feel to be behind the wheeler. I like to feel the creation
04:10 of building something that's unique like this.
