00:00 Yeah, I mean, first thing you're gonna see is physicality.
00:02 They're gonna play with great fundamentals, great technique.
00:04 They're gonna be extremely gap sound, play with discipline, and
00:09 they're gonna be fast.
00:10 They're gonna be athletic in every position, every guy on the defense is
00:13 probably gonna get drafted, every guy on the defense is probably gonna play in the NFL
00:17 for a long time, so you're gonna see a bunch of talented guys.
00:19 But not only with the talent, you see a bunch of guys that play as a team and
00:23 as a unit, very similar to our defense.
00:26 So we know that they're a really good defense.
00:29 We know they play against really good teams, but we're just very excited to play
00:33 this team, physical football team, and try to match that physicality and
00:37 that dominance that they have.
00:38 >> Yeah, I mean, I think, first of all, it's the players.
00:40 The kids that they've recruited are extremely talented, but
00:44 they also play with extreme discipline and physicality.
00:47 And that stands out now, that stands out when you go back and
00:52 watch 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, all the way back to 2012, whatever it is.
00:58 You watch the big state, it's been there, that defense,
01:01 they've all, it's different kids, different players there.
01:04 But the style of defense is the same.
01:06 >> Yeah, I think the biggest thing for us is to try to add those things,
01:11 do those things, but also not confuse our players.
01:14 So as much as we can do and throw at them,
01:17 cuz we got a really smart football team, but make sure that they're playing fast
01:21 and physical is really the balance.
01:23 And once you feel like they've got it and you can use something else,
01:26 then you do it.
01:28 If they can't handle it, then you don't run it.
01:30 And we're still gotta be us and still do what we do, but be able to adjust,
01:34 especially when you have time like this, to try to keep them off balance as well.
01:38 >> Is there such, do too much or do too little?
01:41 I mean, how hard is it to find that balance?
01:43 >> You know what, I found it harder here because of the players we have.
01:48 We just have really good players, really smart guys.
01:50 So it's always harder with the players that we have to find that balance in
01:55 other places than it's been, you kinda know that you can't do this,
01:59 you can't do that with our guys.
02:01 I mean, they learn stuff in the day, and it's just like,
02:05 you're amazed at how smart they are.
02:06 But it's also because of the love of football that they have.
02:09 So you can do so many things with them, and it's fun for a coach.
02:14 And then sometimes they're throwing stuff at you.
02:16 Hey, coach, I saw this, I get text messages at 12, 13 at night of plays.
02:20 And I got a play from Mikey the other day.
02:22 Like, Mikey, you're still on defense, and now you want an offensive back,
02:25 and you want this.
02:27 But these kids love football, and
02:28 it makes it easy to do when you have kids like that.
