00:00 Chairman of Rwanda Leadership Fellowship Moses, dear congregation, ladies and
00:10 gentlemen, good morning. You all agree with me that we've just had amazing
00:23 inspirational messages. Pastor Rick and Pastor Andy, it's an honor to speak after
00:33 you. The wisdom you both have shared is invaluable and to be frank with you all,
00:42 my attendance here is really based on a somewhat selfish desire to learn for
00:51 there is little in the scripture that the believers present in this
00:57 room do not already know. Mine must be a message of gratitude for your incredible
01:05 service, Pastor Rick, and again a very warm welcome to Pastor Andy. To our dear
01:12 friend, Pastor Rick, you've been a loyal and treasured friend over the years and
01:17 stood with us through trials and triumphs, through challenges and victories.
01:24 I am certain that you are as proud of our progress as we are.
01:33 Indeed you've preached the word of God in the most digestible, loving, non-judgmental
01:44 and practical of ways possible. How beneficial this humility has been in
01:50 spreading the gospel. Watching your unshakable, inexhaustible faith in the
01:58 midst of storms, your humility and compassion for humanity, you're willing
02:04 less to share a platform with the downtrodden and once worst offenders, now
02:11 reformed of course, are some of the reasons that I kept
02:19 visiting Saddleback whenever I would be on the West Coast. And what I witnessed was
02:28 real. Ladies and gentlemen, Pastor Rick Warren is not just a man of God, he is a
02:34 man of action. He is a man of commitment, of fairness, of empathy, of peace. Thank
02:42 you, Pastor Rick, for believing. Thank you for believing in Rwanda even when it was
02:50 unpopular to do so. Despite the darkness that made our history, you saw the light
02:58 in our determination to overcome. I'm certain when I say that our progress as
03:05 a nation is a victory for you too. You have loved this country so faithfully
03:10 and be assured that this country loves you back.
03:17 Indeed we may be small but we will always have enough space for all those
03:27 who regard our home with affection and consideration. And to you, Pastor Andy, I
03:36 can appreciate that Pastor Rick's incredible legacy, I'm not going to talk
03:42 about the big shoes, it was encouraging to hear that you're not intimidated and
03:50 from your dynamism, your youth, especially from your impressive track record, the
03:57re is no doubt you'll be, you would not be overwhelmed by the task ahead. We wish
04:02 you success, divine inspiration, courage and support from our communities as well.
04:07 May Rwanda offer you as loving a home as I believe, as I hope that your
04:13 predecessors found here. Yes, that small Rwanda that once was at the brink
04:20 refused to vanish despite the horrors that befell it. Indeed it bled to its
04:25 core but the heart of our continent kept beating still. Eventually the bleeding
04:33 stopped and the healing began. A reconciled nation, harmonious people. A
04:40 leadership that has since chosen, he echoed, the president to remain united, to
04:45 be accountable to themselves and to think big. We are grateful that the peace
04:50 plan has come to the heart of Africa. We hope that its virtuous pulse will keep
04:55 flowing health and peace across our continent for all blessings must be
05:01 shared. Dear congregation, we are blessed. We are blessed to be here together. The
05:08 connection shared by us all is one that transcends all differences in origins,
05:14 experience and life paths. We are united by faith, by hope, by the love for God and
05:22 all his creations. I believe that we also share one truth, those that can must.
05:32 Indeed all those favoured with the platform to the platforms to effect
05:36 change must do so. A social welfare, the wellness of others is our collective
05:44 responsibilities, responsibility sorry, the proverb 3 chapter 27 to 28 says it
05:50 best, do not withhold good from those to whom it's due when it's in your power to
05:57 act and do not say to your neighbor come back tomorrow and I'll give it to you
06:03 when you already have it with you. I think it's really joined what Pastor Rick
06:11 and Andy said. I guess it's the limitations, he talks about the
06:20 limitations again that are put in our hands that become indeed an opportunity
06:26 through the love of God and the power of God to make us really capable. So all
06:32 that can must again to echo what Andy said, God is good and God is great.
06:40 Rwanda spiritual leaders, today's wonderful messages made their way into
06:47 our hearts because you worked diligently to gather us all here. I become your
06:53 frequent, I mean guest of honor friend I would say because I believe in what you
07:03 do. May you remain the voice of godliness and virtue in our nation's
07:07 effort for progress and transformation. May you keep inspiring leaders in all
07:13 fields of life to choose service over power. Whether in medical advancement,
07:19 governance, advocacy, faith or simply existence itself, hard work and devotion
07:26 will always attest to godly values in their purest form. Again I wish to repeat
07:34 those that can must and I promise you that we shall. Thank you for having me
07:41 here today. May God cover you and those you care for in warm enriching
07:46 protective love. I thank you.
