00:00 A really important goal today, that second goal was massive to Elgin and it's a big part of the victory today.
00:05 Yeah, definitely. I was desperate to get the goal and the referee kind of talked us through the week and the way we've been playing, I think it's quite evident we're getting more chances.
00:14 And we definitely had a few today so I was desperate to get one and thankfully I did.
00:18 Your experience has been really important to Elgin since you came in. Obviously it was Barry that signed you, wasn't it?
00:22 Yep.
00:23 Tell me how it all came about signing for Elgin.
00:25 Well I've known Barry for a few years, obviously he was assistant at Dumbarton and then having been out a year with a kind of sore back, I was desperate to get back playing and obviously the good relationship with Barry, he brought me up on an initial basis to Christmas.
00:39 So that was obviously good, good to get some games under my belt and then since I've been here I've really enjoyed it. So I don't see myself going anywhere really.
00:47 Well that's it, I think your contract was a short term one?
00:50 I think it's up to date.
00:51 It's up to date, is it? Okay, so there's some negotiating to be done, are you feeling like you want to be part of the team for the second half of the season?
00:57 Definitely, I mean as you can see I think the boys are enjoying it, as soon as the new guy first came in and Stefan as well, you can clearly see he has a specific style of play and I think today we kind of got the benefit of that and it was really enjoyable today.
01:10 Maybe not the last 10 minutes because I couldn't really breathe but apart from that it was good.
01:13 Well it was a good 90 minutes, that's for sure, 90 plus anyway. Talk us through the goal, obviously it's all about opportunism, isn't it?
01:19 Yeah, I mean we were good and definitely on the counter attack and I think when we got the throw in and Rusty was through and we were quite near the throw in it was quite obvious what we were doing.
01:28 I was just hoping Rusty would look up and see me at the front post, which he did and it was a perfect ball and I just had to really get in on it. I think I hit it with my studs and it managed to go by the goalie so I was delighted obviously.
01:39 A few minutes later you had won there at the near post which you must have thought maybe was going in as well and the keeper saved it?
01:44 I think that was just a snapshot, I didn't have the energy to get the ball down so I just hit it and it was close but I think the keeper probably had that one covered.
01:51 Your experience has been important, I mean obviously there's young strikers that are on the bench waiting to get the chance and you know that you've probably got to play well to hold that jersey.
01:59 No definitely and I think we've got a lot of options on the bench recently which has been good and the guys that came on have been done really well but it's weird to consider myself experienced but over the last few years I've really found the way I've been playing and I think it can benefit other people.
02:17 I'm not necessarily going to score every week, obviously that would be nice but I think it's been really good recently definitely.
02:25 Could this result be a catalyst for better times for Elgin? Obviously they're down, still too close to the bottom of the table but they've created a little bit of a gap, is it onwards and upwards for them now?
02:33 100%, I mean I thought we were really good last week as well against Steny to probably slop the goals that we didn't want and this week that's Peter Header, definitely title challengers and we've really dominated most of the game up until probably 70-80 minutes when we were just trying to see it out which was probably the right thing to do.
02:50 But no, I think it should be a catalyst and we'll take it into next week.
