Funko Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer Funko Minis | Christmas Spot 2023
Transcript
00:00 On my way to Santa's, I made a pit stop at the island of Misfit Toys.
00:04 Here's your Christmas spot on the Funko Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Funko Minis.
00:09 [Christmas music]
00:24 And as we edge closer and closer to the time when that jolly Saint Nick slides down our chimney,
00:30 we're still going to be looking at some more Christmas-related collectibles here on this channel.
00:33 And one of those collectibles just happened to be ones from the folks over at Funko.
00:37 This is the new Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Funko Minis,
00:40 giving us basically Rudolph the Red-Nosed characters in smaller scale.
00:44 Now, I didn't collect all of these, or I certainly did not pick up all of these.
00:47 You can see featured on the back here, there's a total of ten.
00:51 Now, some of these in fact, actually like Bumble, for example, there's a variation to that that has the glitter,
00:56 and there's also a Rudolph that's flocked.
00:57 If you were to say not include those, then there's just eight really then to collect.
01:01 I could have easily picked up all eight.
01:03 I could have also had a whole money tree that I pull my money from from my backyard, but I didn't have that.
01:07 So, I only picked up three of these.
01:09 I might could see myself actually going back and picking up more of these.
01:12 One thing I do like right away is that Funko made these not as blind bags or blind boxes.
01:16 So, you know right away what characters you're actually getting.
01:19 I mean, blind boxes are always the fun thing because you never really know what you're getting,
01:23 but you could also very well end up with three Hermes, and who really wants three Hermes?
01:27 What I did end up getting though was Rudolph, I got Hermes, and I got Santa Claus off to the side.
01:32 The order of which these, Rudolph is 130, Hermes is 131, and Santa Claus is 135.
01:38 I am maybe interested to get the Rudolph flocked and the glitter version of Bumble,
01:43 but I could if anything see myself going back and just picking up maybe a Yukon, Cornelius.
01:47 I mean really all of these. All of these are good.
01:49 I'm just glad to see that the Jack in the Box isn't it.
01:52 What is the name? Charlie? Charlie in the Box?
01:54 I have no interest. Boy, I'd like to sucker punch that Charlie in the Box.
01:58 I'm glad Charlie in the Box isn't featured on the front or on the back.
02:00 I might, I don't know, I might see if I can go back and get more of these,
02:03 but these come to us from the folks over at Funko.
02:06 We're gonna go ahead and open up each one of these boxes instead of actually cutting away.
02:10 I think I would just have more fun to open these up in front of you guys.
02:13 Sliding out first, we got Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Just take him from his plastic prison.
02:19 Very small in size, obviously. They don't seem to have any head articulation, no leg articulation.
02:24 Funko pops, if anything, they would have, you know, normally they have head rotations.
02:28 You'd be able to at least turn their heads. Not the case.
02:30 These just seem to be staction pieces. Rudolph looks pretty cute though.
02:34 He said it was cute. You can see he does have his glowing nose not covered over by mud.
02:39 Really nicely colored. I mean, for the size, they're painted pretty good too.
02:43 Even on the bottoms of his hooves, the white around his hooves,
02:46 and even the little furry tuft that he has for his tail are nicely painted by Funko.
02:50 I just kind of, in a way, though, wish that these could have had some head opposability,
02:53 because, you know, again, if these are gonna be Funko minis,
02:56 you'd like to think that they'd basically be Funko pops, just in a smaller scale.
03:00 So that's Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Definitely did want to get him.
03:03 Let's open up now Hermie. And again, these don't have any tape or anything like that,
03:07 so we just open these up. These you can probably find at your local comic book stores.
03:10 I ended up ordering these online. Let's just put Hermie's box right over there.
03:14 Yeah, again, like, Hermie doesn't have any head posability.
03:17 In sort of a way, they kind of remind me of the Funko Mystery Minis.
03:20 Just, again, nothing really mystery about them. You know right away who the characters are.
03:24 Hermie's got himself his little tool for pulling teeth.
03:27 Luckily, he uses those for Bumble's teeth, because I would never want him to get that close to my—
03:31 Hey, wait a minute. What's coming loose here?
03:34 Oh, he just lost his foot. I'm just gonna go ahead and pick up his foot.
03:37 It just happened to have dropped on the floor.
03:39 Of all the things I say isn't posable, and Hermie's foot just fell off.
03:43 I would imagine that these would have just been all molded as one piece,
03:46 but it looks like the feet are separate pieces.
03:48 I'm gonna have to add a little bit of glue on the bottoms of Hermie's feet.
03:51 Yeah, he does have the little pliers there on the one side.
03:53 It looks like he's got his dentistry book there on the other.
03:56 A nicely painted chap. You got the larger black eyes there.
03:59 Not Funko Pop eyes, necessarily, because, again, like, Funko Pop would have been just big black circular eyes.
04:04 These have a little bit more personality going.
04:06 They kind of, again, remind me of the Mystery Minis, or if anybody really remembers them,
04:10 they also remind me of the Funko Vinyls.
04:12 Remember those Funko Vinyls that kind of look like the Rankin/Bass figures, or Rankin/Bass cartoons?
04:16 Hermie does have his little hat, non-removable.
04:18 Paint's pretty good on this guy.
04:20 You probably noticed this whole time I'm kind of holding his foot,
04:22 because I don't know why his foot was falling off the way that it was.
04:25 Definitely gonna have to glue these.
04:26 These could also have been something that they could have marketed as ornaments.
04:29 Put a little hook there on the top of their head, you could have actually put these on the tree.
04:32 They could have called them Funko Mini Tree Ornaments, or—
04:35 Clearly, I'm not into marketing, but yeah, I think there's definitely potential that they could have released these possibly as even Christmas ornaments.
04:41 So there's Hermie.
04:43 And, of course, if we are going to be looking at Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,
04:45 I think the two crucial characters from Rudolph would be Rudolph and, of course, Santa Claus himself.
04:50 Let's go ahead and open up Santa Claus here.
04:53 If you have been collecting any of these, let me know down below in the comments section which ones you guys have gotten so far.
04:58 There's Santa Claus's box. We'll just put it off to the side.
05:01 Yeah, again, like, there's gonna be no posability.
05:03 Does Santa have stable feet? Seems to be the case.
05:06 I don't know why Hermie's was separate the way that it was.
05:10 On the bottom of Santa's outfit, you can see, like, this is basically all white plastic.
05:14 They have at least painted the leggings. They've painted the boots.
05:17 You know, they're really nicely painted figures.
05:19 Santa does look very jovial.
05:21 He's definitely a fatter Santa. Nobody wants a thin Santa.
05:25 He has beefed up, eaten quite a lot of meals that Mrs. Claus has been serving him at the dinner table.
05:30 And, of course, these guys have the little Christmas sack full of toys.
05:34 Misfit toys. I don't know if the misfit toys are in there yet.
05:36 Charlie in the Box. Charlie in the Box can save.
05:38 I mean, anyone else really like Charlie in the Box?
05:40 Nobody like Charlie in the Box. I don't want to make that assumption.
05:43 There's probably somebody here that actually likes Charlie in the Box.
05:46 But, yeah, I like the look of these.
05:47 I mean, again, for them being smaller, they're kind of good and ideal for putting on a mantle, for example.
05:52 I mean, my mantle's already filling up pretty fast with all my other Christmas decorations.
05:55 I might even see if I can free up some spaces to put these little guys out.
06:00 Again, I don't know if I'm going to be going back and getting any more of these.
06:03 I mean, the price from what I remember, I want to say they were like $5 or $6, maybe $7 a piece.
06:08 So, they're not super expensive, but they're also, you know, to be fair, they're also quite small there, too.
06:12 Getting these through, getting these three, maybe Clarice I could probably pass on.
06:17 I might go back. I might go back and pick up Yukon Cornelius and definitely have to get the Santa Snowman.
06:22 Ugh, another rabbit hole we're going to be sliding down.
06:25 Have you guys been collecting any of these? Let me know down below in the comments.
06:28 There's the price right there, $12.99. I don't think I paid $12.99.
06:31 I feel like I paid a little under $10. Maybe it was about $10 I paid for these.
06:35 They are, again, being that they're Funko, they're a little bit more expensive.
06:38 And again, they're definitely a lot more on the smaller side.
06:41 Have you guys, though, been collecting any of the Funko Minis?
06:44 Let me know down below in the comments section.
06:46 Also, let me know down below, speaking of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, what's your favorite Christmas special?
06:51 Yeah, let me know down below.
06:53 Mine was always Santa Claus is Coming to Town because I always liked the story of Santa Claus.
06:56 And I also like the Winter Warlock.
06:58 And I put one foot in front of the... yeah, Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
07:02 Let me know down below in the comments section what your favorite Christmas special was.
07:05 And also, as well, if you guys enjoyed this video, I want to hit it with a like.
07:08 If you guys are loving the content you guys are seeing,
07:10 and you still want to stick around for more Christmas-related videos,
07:12 I can't promise that we'll have very many left, judging by, again, my outdated calendar I have on the wall over there.
07:17 That's a running gag, by the way, but my calendar is like... I'm looking at the date.
07:21 That's like... what is it? 2018? I can't even see from here.
07:24 Looks like, for Christmas, this guy's going to have to get himself some glasses.
07:27 But definitely, there are going to be a few more Christmas spots sprinkled in there for the rest of what's remaining of December.
07:33 So make sure, if that's the kind of thing you like to come back to this channel for, you're coming back here on a regular basis.
07:38 As always, guys, thanks for watching. See you guys next time.
