Transcript
00:00 Ole Miss is feeling peachy after their bowl game. Hello, my name is Skyler Gerrard of
00:04 Fan Nation, the Grove Report, and here's your latest football news. Now Ole Miss
00:08 beat Penn State in the New Year's Six Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and made history
00:11 by having 11 win game season for the first time in history. The 38 to 25 win
00:16 for Ole Miss gives us 11 wins in a single season for the first time in
00:19 school history and it also marks the first New Year's Six Bowl victory for
00:23 Lane Kiffin since he arrived as head coach in Oxford prior to 2020 season. The
00:27 Rebels who are 11-2 had a 20 to 17 advantage over the Lions who are 10-3
00:32 entering halftime of Saturday's game. And the Ole Miss defense kept Penn State
00:36 held up enough for its offense to find a rhythm and score 11 points in the third
00:40 quarter to go up by two scores. Rebels quarterback Jackson Dart was one of the
00:43 biggest playmakers of the day, finishing the game with 379 yards and three scores.
00:48 Ole Miss tight end Kaden Prescorn had 136 yards and two touchdowns
00:52 receiving and he was joined by wide receiver Trey Harris over the century
00:56 mark as well. In rushing while Quinton Judkins led the Rebels with 105 yards on
01:01 the ground after a slow start to the day against Penn State's defensive front. The
01:05 Rebs started shaky at the first possession but then after they did that
01:08 they found their footing. Then early in the fourth quarter the Rebels blocked a
01:12 Penn State field goal attempt that furthered the healthy momentum that
01:15 persisted until the final whistle. And then Jackson Dart following touchdown
01:19 midway through that frame gave Ole Miss a 38 to 17 lead that put them out of the
01:23 game reach for the Lions from the Big Ten. Ole Miss has now finished their
01:27 season with 11 and 2 for the first time in school history and will head into a
01:31 new era of the SEC next season as one of the hottest teams in the league. The
01:35 Rebels are now set to open their 2024 season on August 31st at home against
01:40 Furman before hosting their first FBS opponent of the year in Middle Tennessee
01:45 Blue Raiders on September 17th.
