00:00 >> It's been a frustrating year with the hand and everything,
00:04 playing with a club on and all that.
00:06 >> Yeah.
00:07 >> How do you play with a club on?
00:09 >> I mean, so it's been a frustrating year, not only from the hands,
00:11 but I've had other injuries as well that y'all don't even know about.
00:13 So- >> Really?
00:14 >> It's been a tough season injury wise, but not too frustrated.
00:18 I mean, the team's been doing well with or without me.
00:20 And I feel like I'm just grateful to be here, day in, day out with the team.
00:23 >> Does that put a wrench in everything that you have in mind?
00:25 Because at the start of the season, you said, this is my last year, I'm done.
00:29 I'm a senior, I'm gonna play it out.
00:31 And then you didn't get a chance to play much.
00:32 >> Right. >> Does that change things for
00:34 you with an option?
00:35 >> Well, yeah, now that I have the option, it's kind of interesting factor.
00:38 Because going into the year, I mean, I said it was my last year, and
00:40 it really was my last year going into eligibility wise.
00:43 And so going into it now that this counts as a medical registered year,
00:47 I have the option.
00:48 That's definitely something I talked to the coaches about.
00:52 >> Yeah, so is there a good chance that could happen?
00:56 >> I'm still thinking about things, and
00:57 I think that right after the season, I'll have to figure that out.
00:59 >> Cuz you wanna be an NFL football player.
01:00 >> Yeah, that's the goal. >> So you gotta maximize your-
01:02 >> Right, exactly.
01:03 >> Your film and all of that, I guess.
01:05 >> I feel like coming out here, I played probably five, six games,
01:08 in five or six games this year, if that.
01:10 And the games I did play weren't even full games.
01:12 I got injured or only it was my first game back, so
01:15 I didn't play the whole game and stuff like that.
01:16 So I feel like definitely need some more tape and stuff like that.
01:18 >> So you're telling us that maybe we haven't seen the last of Asa Turner in
01:21 Seattle? >> We'll see, man, we'll see.
01:23 >> So was it the Tulsa game where I think you were out there for one play?
01:26 >> Yeah, exactly, the first play of the game, broke my hand,
01:29 went in there, got surgery.
01:31 And I've actually had two hand surgeries during the season.
01:34 >> On both hands?
01:35 >> Two on the same hand and one on the other hand during screen ball, so.
01:38 >> And you started the season with the other hand that was injured and
01:41 I think protected, and then you broke the other one.
01:43 >> Yeah. >> Now how did you do that,
01:44 making a tackle?
01:46 >> The new one this season?
01:47 >> Yeah.
01:48 >> The new one, yeah, the first play of Tulsa, like you were saying, man,
01:50 I just went in there for a tackle the first play, made it.
01:52 And then I knew something was wrong, I felt wrong, I took the glove off, saw,
01:55 something was messed up, tried to run to the sideline.
01:58 But they were doing tempo, so I had to stay in one more play.
02:00 But yeah, that's definitely what happened.
02:03 >> So was it two surgeries on the right hand and one on the left?
02:05 >> Yeah, exactly, yeah, so three, two, I mean, it sucks to say, but
02:08 like three in the past six months, probably.
02:10 Yeah. >> Wow.
02:11 >> It's been tough, it's been tough.
02:13 Tough, not only trying to play football, trying to stay positive and
02:15 stuff like that, but tough.
02:17 Washing my hair in the shower and stuff like that too, man,
02:19 it's been a tough, tough situation for sure.
02:21 >> Yeah, are you feeling a lot better now, or?
02:24 >> Hands wise, yeah, hands wise for sure.
02:26 >> I think coach said you were ready to go from the start, so
02:29 you might be a starter again?
02:30 >> I mean, we'll see when it comes game time, but I've been practicing with the team
02:33 and stuff like that, getting my workouts in and doing everything that the other
02:36 safeties are doing as well.
02:37 So it'll be interesting to see what happens on Monday night.
02:39 and experience that a lot.
