00:00 >> All right, we're in the Niner Lock with Sebastian Joseph Day.
00:02 And new team, new spot.
00:06 >> Sure. >> You probably had some options.
00:08 How did you decide on coming here?
00:09 >> Well, I mean, I think the Niners speak for themselves.
00:13 They're a great organization.
00:15 I'm very familiar with them, being on the Rams the past four years.
00:20 So yeah, kind of a no brainer for me.
00:23 >> Is it a lot to jump into?
00:26 I remember when Chase Young came here, the defensive line is maybe a little bit
00:30 easier than other positions to jump right in and play.
00:33 >> Yeah, for sure.
00:34 And it's definitely different for me cuz I've never been in this situation.
00:36 But I'm just thankful that I'm in a great situation,
00:39 on a great team with a lot of great players.
00:42 So I'm just saying that.
00:44 >> What the heck happened when you go from team captain to being waived?
00:47 Can you explain that?
00:50 >> Yeah, I think I'll keep those comments to myself.
00:53 [LAUGH] I'll keep that to myself.
00:55 But yeah, I'm just lucky to be here.
00:57 It's a new opportunity.
00:59 I'm just thankful to be part of this organization.
01:01 >> You couldn't ask for a better situation.
01:04 >> Exactly.
01:04 So yeah, I'm just focused on that right now.
01:06 >> Did you feel like you were having maybe your best year this year?
01:08 >> I don't know.
01:11 I don't think anyone was having a good year over there.
01:13 So again, I'm focused on now.
01:16 >> What do you see your role can be here stepping in,
01:20 just a few days of practice?
01:22 >> I'm just here to do whatever I can to help the team win.
01:25 Whatever that role may be, that's not a concern.
01:27 So, that's good.
01:29 >> How familiar are you with Coach Kacarek and his philosophy and
01:31 his way of doing things before you game him?
01:34 >> I wasn't too, I mean, obviously watching how they play.
01:37 They're very violent, very fast, the way they play, very physical.
01:41 You talk about the intricacies of the defense.
01:43 I wasn't very familiar, but they catch me at the speed.
01:46 >> When you were deciding where to go, who were you in conversations with here?
01:50 >> I would like to keep it to myself.
01:52 >> You have experience playing in the ultimate game.
01:55 How much can you draw on that experience in this situation?
01:59 >> I mean, I feel like each game is different though.
02:01 Obviously, having that experience helps, but
02:04 at that time I was actually hurt and I had a torn pec.
02:07 And I played about game seven or game eight, then I tore my pec.
02:11 So I was out for the remainder of the season.
02:13 So yeah, I was there, but I didn't even play,
02:16 because I was all messed up still recovering from that.
02:18 But that's all I can say about that.
02:21 But I actually have to be out there in like 19 minutes, so.
02:24 >> You played against the Niners in 2019 and 2020.
02:27 So what was it like facing their offense in 2015?
02:32 >> Very detailed, very physical, and really, just really good.
02:36 Really good.
02:36 You know you're gonna get a great offense and defense.
02:40 It'll be a very physical game.
02:42 But I really have to give it my all.
02:42 >> Best of luck to you.
02:43 Thank you. >> Thanks.
