Thousands of people are without power in southeast Queensland, as the clean up from last week's storm continues. Intense rain overnight has caused some flooding in some areas.

00:37 Localised roads are already being closed in some parts of the Gold Coast and the scenic
00:44 rim and the Little Narang Dam even recorded 150mm of rainfall in the 3 hours to 5.15am
00:54 this morning.
00:55 Now residents are still waiting out for power with residents in some places like Jimboomba
01:03 and Tamborine Mountain set to have to wait until January 5th to get their power back
01:10 on.
01:11 Now that will be 10 days they will have had without electricity and for some of those
01:16 residents they don't have running water, they can't get access to a shower so it certainly
01:22 hasn't been the relaxing Christmas and New Years Eve period for many people here on the
01:29 Gold Coast and in the scenic rim.
