Tensions have once again escalated in the northeastern state as the government reinstates a curfew in the Thoubal and Imphal West districts following fresh violence. Clashes erupted between unidentified armed miscreants and locals in the Lilong area of Thoubal district on Monday evening, leaving four people dead. The bodies are yet to be recovered, according to local reports. Eyewitnesses say the armed miscreants opened fire at civilians.
