00:00 Good afternoon Sheffield, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star and I'm coming to you with the
00:03 first weather report of 2024 - happy new year by the way - to show you how Storm Henk is affecting
00:09 Sheffield, something like this basically. Yeah Sheffield's going to see some pretty sustained
00:13 rain until about 7pm tonight basically. We have a yellow weather warning for rain in place so there
00:20 is some chance of small chance of flooding across the city and pretty much it's going to be as
00:24 drizzly like this until around the 7pm mark when the weather warning is lifted. We'll see the peak
00:29 of this at between 3 and 4pm from what I can see from the weather maps. Other than that there's no
00:36 accompanying winds or gusts to go alongside with it. There's an amber weather warning for
00:40 South England and some parts of the Midlands as well where they're expecting winds of up to 80
00:45 miles an hour in the west side for example and 60 miles per hour in the central Midlands area.
00:51 That's an amber weather warning for severe weather that poses a risk to life essentially
00:55 where there might be flying debris or roof tiles coming off kind of situation if you can imagine.
01:01 Sheffield has largely escaped this entirely. There is no breeze out here today as far as you can see.
01:05 There are expected to be maybe gusts of up to 23 miles per hour later into this evening around the
01:10 6pm kind of area but right now we're removed from that. It's just going to be a very wet
01:15 and drizzly start to the working week and this new year of ours.
