Quarterback Bo Nix reflects on a big win in the Fiesta Bowl and his Oregon Ducks career.
Transcript
00:00 Hey Bo, David Bram from the Associated Press. You end your career as one of the most experienced, productive college quarterbacks ever.
00:08 Do you feel 35 years old in quarterback years or what's it feel like now that this kind of odyssey is finally done?
00:15 Well I feel like I have played a lot of football but you know every time I went out there you know it slowed down more and more.
00:21 And you know by the end of it I just had a really you know comfortable feel and you know I think this year with what we were doing offensively,
00:29 schematically I think you know we just you know we're very efficient and part of that is because of you know what we did offensively
00:37 and then the players we have you know on our side of the ball and you know it's been a great career.
00:43 It's been a lot of ups and downs and you know it's been there's been some great diversity too that I've been able to learn from.
00:50 And I wouldn't be here without you know every year, every step has been you know another journey and I wouldn't have traded anything.
00:57 What I'll do say just to piggyback off that for Bo is you know hopefully everybody up here on the you know out here in the crowd
01:04 realizes that this guy has the single season record for passing touchdowns, passing yards and most touchdowns in an Oregon Bowl game
01:11 right here at quarterback not to mention set the NCAA passing record for completion percentage.
01:16 So he's done a lot for this program, he's played in a lot of leap ball and we're really proud of him.
01:21 Go back to the front row here on the left.
01:25 Can you talk a little bit about your thoughts on those accomplishments and will you finally say that you played good football this season?
01:31 Yeah I played good football this year because of you know the opportunity and the situation that I was in.
01:37 You know it wasn't difficult to go out there and play with the guys that you know I was around and Coach Lennon can say what he wants
01:43 but you know it's a lot of because of him that we were in you know the situation we were in.
01:48 He coaches us extremely hard and he gets the best out of us and that's what you want out of a head coach
01:53 and you know his humility is going to give it to the players but we wouldn't be here without him and his leadership
01:59 and you know I've learned so much from him over my time over two years and you know like I said I wouldn't be here without him
02:06 and the coaches that he's put around us as players and you know we as a team I felt like you know we set the bar really high.
02:13 We had a standard and you know we just wanted to go out there and match it every Saturday.
