00:00 How are you doing and how are you feeling?
00:03 I feel great.
00:04 How's the team?
00:05 The team's good.
00:06 Thank you.
00:07 Can you expand?
00:10 Well, we're really excited.
00:12 Obviously, it's our last game of the season.
00:15 We've been prepping as coaches and just kind of putting our best foot forward
00:20 and go out and give the fans something to appreciate.
00:24 Also, the guys to play together as one and just go out and have some fun
00:28 and execute and make some plays.
00:30 You kind of got thrown into this whole thing midstream.
00:33 As you look back, I know there's going to be more time for reflection after Sunday.
00:39 How much do you feel you've grown in this position and learned in this position?
00:43 Like I told you from the start, I've definitely learned so much.
00:47 Incredible opportunity.
00:49 A dream come true, something I want to do going forward.
00:53 And definitely, every time I call a play, I learn something new.
00:56 But just going through the week process has been very, very beneficial to me.
01:02 What's been the most surprising part of the job?
01:05 I know you've been preparing for it.
01:06 You've been around people that have done it for a long time.
01:09 Is there anything that was kind of surprising to you?
01:12 Surprising?
01:15 No, because the way I kind of went into it was very unique.
01:19 Just registering everything that has happened and going forward,
01:25 and remembering those certain situations that I was in
01:28 and just taking those and growing from them and moving forward.
01:31 Obviously, the offense had some great moments this year,
01:34 setting the record of 63 a couple weeks ago.
01:37 Just even looking a little towards next year and the final game against the Broncos,
01:41 what's some things you think this offense can do or needs
01:44 to have more performances like that consistently?
01:47 Not 63 points, but --
01:49 Well, the work consistency is the right work.
01:52 That's what we plan on doing from the execution standpoint.
01:57 I'm very proud of the progression of our rookie quarterback.
02:00 That is something that we did, made that decision to play with him.
02:05 He's really grown as a person, as a player, and I'm very impressed with him.
02:11 What do you feel like he's grown the most as a player,
02:14 and what do you want to see him, in some areas, grow even more heading into next season?
02:20 I mean, every game it's a new tactic for him.
02:25 But for him, just taking anything that --
02:28 just never making the same mistake twice is always a good one to say,
02:33 and just growing from his practice routine, his daily routine,
02:38 and obviously the execution on game day.
02:41 Well, you alluded to it, but in more detail,
02:44 he has really learned to protect the football,
02:47 which at his position is probably one of the biggest keys.
02:50 Would you talk about his development there, please?
02:52 I would say that's a key to winning every week,
02:54 especially at his position where he touches the ball
02:57 and he influences the play every single snap,
03:00 and him understanding how important that is,
03:03 but also being able to be aggressive too at times,
03:06 but knowing if it's an aggressive call, the worst-case scenario would be an incompletion.
03:11 What is it about his personality that his teammates have been really drawn to him?
03:16 He's energetic. He's fun.
03:19 He's very level-headed.
03:21 He doesn't get too up, too down, which at that position in the NFL is important.
03:27 I think that's what draws those guys into it, and he's really tough.
03:31 Considering everything that you went through with the transition position this season,
03:35 what's the biggest takeaway for yourself as a coach throughout the season?
03:41 I mean, to take away was just an incredible opportunity, like I said before.
03:45 It's something I've always dreamed of doing and want to do that going forward.
03:51 Twenty-one targets for Devontae.
03:54 Obviously, you want to get in the ball as much as possible.
03:56 Is that how it's drawn up or just kind of how it organically occurred?
04:01 I would say both, for sure.
04:03 There's plays we have that are designed to go to him,
04:06 and then like anybody else, sometimes the play takes it to him based off of his defense.
04:12 Can you talk about how much progression you've noticed from Zemir White
04:15 taking over from Josh Jacobs these past few weeks?
04:17 Yeah, he's done great.
04:19 I mean, he did a good job in the passing game.
04:22 He had some opportunities last game.
04:24 He's caught the ball well. He's ran well. He's protected well.
04:27 He'll continue to grow and turn into a really good player.
04:30 Someone asked Patrick Graham earlier about how you deal with the human side.
04:34 How do you deal with going on to this last game at home
04:38 and making sure that your offense has that same energy and mentality to go out there and play their best?
04:43 Just come in with a lot of juice when they come in the building
04:46 and take that to the practice field and give a lot of confidence and take that to Sunday.
04:51 You guys good? Thanks, bud.
04:53 Thank you.
