00:00 It's the 16th annual Pink Test at Sydney and Australia takes on Pakistan for the final
00:07 test in this series.
00:08 It's also a very meaningful day for people who have breast cancer or also who know someone
00:09 who has.
00:10 This is the Pink Parade happening right now where the McGaugh Foundation has organised
00:11 people to come celebrate and raise awareness for the struggles that people face.
00:12 We've spoken to breast cancer patients and breast care nurses about just what this means
00:37 to them, here's a little bit of what Sam Moulson and Jen Biles had to say.
00:42 So we've had the McGaugh Model of Care implemented, this is the second version of it just released
00:46 last year and it gives us as McGaugh breast care nurses or anybody supporting a breast
00:51 cancer patient a sort of standardised guide which is evidence based right from the diagnosis
00:59 right through to living well with breast cancer and it gives us sort of checkpoints and recommendations
01:04 to ensure that we are giving the most standardised care across the country with all nurses.
01:09 I really want other women to experience what I've got to experience during this journey
01:14 so I think yeah for me it's a really big day and a big event that we should all get behind.
01:19 Here at the Pink Parade are very passionate about this and this is a little bit of what
01:24 some of them had to say.
01:25 We're just proud to be part of the McGaugh Foundation today for the Pink Test and we're
01:29 just proud to be here.
01:30 My mum died with breast cancer so she's alone with us but she fought a good fight and for
01:38 all those who are in the same position as her I'm here to help the cause in everything
01:43 that they do, the nurses, the carers, everyone, it's an amazing cause and what a wonderful
01:48 way to kick off 2024.
01:49 At the moment the McGaugh Foundation has 205 dedicated breast care nurses and they're hoping
01:55 by the end of this year they'll reach 250 dedicated nurses and they're trying this year
02:02 to raise money for 322,000 virtual pink seats to help those on their breast cancer journeys.
