Doncaster Free Press Daily Bulletin with Stephanie Bateman - Friday, January 5, 2024
Transcript
00:00 Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Friday January the 5th,
00:04 12th night. I'll be taking my Christmas decorations down this afternoon so that's the end of Christmas
00:10 and the proper start to the new year for me. But anyway, that aside, just bringing you some
00:15 of our headlines this morning. I did some digging before Christmas, tried to get in touch with
00:24 contacts at Marks & Spencer. We've heard a number of rumours, people talking, staff and just members
00:33 of the public that the future of the city centre, Marks & Spencer, is in jeopardy. We're understanding
00:39 that it's either going to close or it's going to be moving to the Wheely Hall road branch where
00:46 that will expand. This is all just, as I say, a rumour at the moment. I have again contacted
00:53 Marks & Spencer yesterday to get a response to this and find out exactly what's happening but
00:59 as of yet, radio silence. So as soon as I hear anything I will let you know, obviously on our
01:05 website and Facebook page. Then also this morning we have something that's doing rather well,
01:12 another food hygiene rating. A place in Doncaster Market has been given a zero rating meaning
01:20 urgent improvement is required there. So you can read all about that and what the inspectors found
01:27 when they visited. And then lastly, a piece that's come from the police. They've issued 12 CCTV
01:35 images of people who they would like to track down in relation to a number of criminal offences
01:42 that have taken place across South Yorkshire. So take a look at those pictures, you might be
01:47 able to help them with their inquiries. So for those three stories and for anything else that's
01:51 happening in the city today just visit www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk and I hope you have a great weekend.
