00:09 we are talking the toughest monster trucks tour happening right here we're

00:15 talking dirt in here we're talking big trucks we're talking motocross we're

00:18 talking all kinds of stuff so right now sit back relax and enjoy yourself because

00:22 it's gonna be an hour odd monster trucks when I know we all love to see I am Brad

00:27 Perry for this of course check it with us and Lexi who is on special assignment

00:31 is chilling out down there in the valley as we're chilling up here at the Finley

00:35 Toyota Center Prescott Valley but I'm telling right now it's gonna be warm

00:37 it's gonna be hot in here it's the hottest spot to be in this weekend to

00:41 watch some of the amazing monsters truck take on each other and of course take on

00:46 their own stuff too because there's some tricks different things going on but the

00:49 person to help us out with of course telling us how this all works and how

00:53 you can enjoy it is Kelly come on in Kelly how you doing good good to be here

00:57 let's see we've been coming up here now for how many years now have we been

01:00 doing this it's been about eight years maybe ten we switch to doing it every

01:05 other year but yeah and you guys love this place because one there's not a bad

01:09 seat in the house for them to watch this competition absolutely like a lot of

01:13 people will say there's not enough room to do something really great with in

01:17 this small space not true if you look at our videos most of our venues that we go

01:21 to are this size so it's not we're not showing you video from like when we did

01:25 a stadium show most of our venues are this size and you can do a lot here yeah

01:29 and you are gonna see a lot going on as they have gotten the dirt in here and I

01:33 love asking this question how much dirt do you bring into the center it's about

01:38 a hundred and twenty dumped up truck loads yeah that's amazing of getting in

01:42 here and getting it all set up and I love that you have this amazing team too

01:45 that puts the ramps together jump together who've been doing this for

01:49 years and bringing them together is so incredible yeah they I mean they can do

01:53 it over ice they can do it wherever wherever it needs to be done these guys

01:56 are experts they're dirt installation experts all right let's talk about of

02:01 course the trucks that are here because you're gonna see some top names

02:04 competing this weekend yeah we have a brand new truck it's called blockhead it

02:09 looks like a very popular kids toy and then dirt crew which looks like a big

02:15 dump truck dozer which looks like a bulldozer and we have the 2023 tour

02:19 champion tailgater plus the veteran and Maximus which looks like a gladiator so

02:25 so much fun going on okay now there's regular tickets but I gotta tell you you

02:29 want to get the special ticket which lets you get up close to these guys

02:32 doesn't right yes the pit party it's it's called a pit pass and what it

02:35 allows you with your ticket and a pit pass you can get into the pit party

02:39 that's before the event you can walk on the dirt see the trucks up close which

02:43 really makes you understand when you're watching it how insanely huge these

02:47 trucks are and it's crazy that they have a motor in them yeah and what's really

02:51 nice too for the fans out there you get to talk to some of the drivers the team

02:55 that's here and stuff and that makes them even bigger fans when the

02:59 competition is going on out here yes you can take all the selfies you want post

03:02 it to your social media and then embarrass your kid 20 years later when

03:06 when he gets married tickets are ready to go now and so and they're online you

03:10 can go right now and pick them up what's the website to go get them toughest

03:13 monster trucks calm so there you go and this competition is amazing all right

03:17 I know I'm gonna talk to a bit later more about this but I got to bring in

03:20 hobo here who is of course the man who does a little bit of announcing here

03:24 come on here sir how you doing doing well happy to be here in Prescott

03:28 Arizona yeah this is awesome so let's talk about how this competition works

03:32 because a lot of people think it's just the trucks coming out and jumping and

03:35 that's it but there's more to it is it exactly so six trucks that means we're

03:39 racing three different times that means it's gonna go two and two to two then

03:44 one to be your toughest competitor but we kicked the night off of racing then

03:48 we move right into the wheelie competition which then is you know them

03:51 trying to stand their trucks up as much as they can either vertical on the nose

03:55 sideways sometimes they even go upside down but it do keep it very tame but on

03:59 the fine line at the same time yeah and it's not just about of course the

04:03 monster trucks out here there's also some motocross demonstration going on

04:06 too there is and these guys I personally say they might have the most skill and

04:10 the most courage because there's no roll cage that gap 75 feet across that they

04:15 have to store these bikes and a couple these guys might even go upside down

04:18 tonight if you guys get loud enough at tonight's show okay I gotta ask you how

04:23 do you become announcer for the toughest monster truck tour here because there's

04:28 a lot goes into it right there is that's a great question so my origins are from

04:31 freestyle BMX I have been a professional rider my whole life I've done school

04:36 shows contests you name it and then just kind of transferring my skill set from

04:40 there to the big trucks because it's all action sports it's all freestyle it's

04:44 all big air flips spins twirls but sometimes are really big and sometimes

04:48 are really small but this weekend it's larger than life action did you have to

04:52 do of course the announcing voice of toughest monster truck tour coming to

04:58 you right here from the Finley Toyota Center oh yeah you definitely got crank

05:03 it to 11 for that one you know especially whenever you because you set

05:06 the energy as the announcer you got to get show these people a reason why

05:10 they're getting up why they're getting loud why they're here cheering on all

05:13 this chaos and air flying around the Finley Toyota Center and the big part is

05:17 of course the pit party you're telling them get out there get to this right yes

05:21 sir we got pit passes available at Prescott tire pros and W root here you

05:27 know you can get those down there and you can come down take photos you know

05:31 meet the drivers get some merchandise get an autograph and take home with

05:34 memories that last a lifetime I love okay let's talk points really quick

05:37 because this is a point kind of competition right yeah it's a very cut

05:41 throat competition each driver really has to complete all their hits because

05:45 they'll get docked points if they don't because last year I got really tight

05:48 down to the wire between dirt crew and tailgater and it came down to tailgater

05:52 made all his hits where Jerry you know this truck might not have been the

05:55 toughest or he has some breakage or you know just mechanical issues and that

05:59 could cost you a whole season if you're not as consistent holding your equipment

06:02 together and there's not a bad seat in the house what we also love to is that

06:06 you make sure that these fans are safe so they're safe zone that you haven't

06:10 blocked off to different areas and that's very important to you guys to

06:13 make sure everyone enjoys herself yes safety is always top priority whenever

06:17 you're doing stuff like this each truck is equipped with a remote ignition

06:20 interrupter so if an official sees either a bad bounce a part break or

06:24 anything like that we can shut each truck off with a push of a button so

06:28 nothing bad can happen whatsoever man this is so cool all right so we also

06:32 have to talk of course the rental store cat having you guys out and everything

06:36 like that and helping moving this dirt around which is really cool yeah we

06:39 wouldn't be able to do that like Kelly said a hundred and twenty truckloads to

06:42 build jumps up to 20 feet tall for monster trucks and freestyle motocross

06:46 and there's not many events where you can have dual purpose dirt stacks where

06:49 you can do bikes and trucks on it so there's a lot of you know it looks like

06:53 piles of dirt but there's a lot of physics and science that goes into this

06:56 dirt sculpting and we wouldn't be able to do without this awesome cat equipment

06:59 yeah and again also - I remember one year I parked my Yugo I didn't realize I was

07:05 like in a no parking zone and and that just I did make it home yeah you know I

07:10 think I remember seeing it on the track last year whenever you're out here so

07:15 also - we got to remind people - that these aren't guys who pretty much you

07:18 know last night we're hanging out on whiskey run so you know what I want to

07:22 drive a monster truck tomorrow you know but no these guys have been driving for

07:26 a long time haven't they yeah all these trucks are owned by the drivers these

07:30 are independently operated machines so if they break it they got to fix it you

07:34 know they got to get it on the trailer that night so it's a lot of skill a lot

07:38 of finesse and a little bit of luck all tied together to make one solid

07:41 performance yeah and these drivers have been driving for a long time it's so

07:44 amazing when you meet them we're gonna meet some of them who said you know even

07:47 when they were little kids maybe their dad or grandfather were a monster truck

07:51 driver so they learned from the best exactly usually around it young to kind

07:54 of get the bug does spark that fire and then you know as we get older our toys

07:59 just keep getting bigger starts with the little ones right here and then you got

08:01 the full-size ones down on the track as time goes on all right can you give me

08:05 your best announcer voice as we go into break well I want you to say come on
