00:00 Welcome back to the Finley Toyota Center in Prescott Valley where we're here for
00:11 the toughest monster truck tour not one night two nights pit parties and fun
00:16 all right okay I'll stop because you'll get sick of that voice before the
00:19 morning's over but Jerry here is probably never sick of hearing that
00:23 voice because this is the man behind some of the amazing monster trucks we're
00:27 gonna see out here and I gotta ask you what got you into designing monster
00:30 trucks were you always like a monster truck kind of guy it was a bad idea you
00:35 know all my motor sports in my life from getting out of high school to drag race
00:41 and attract to pull into rock crawling everything led me to monster trucks
00:44 there's a little bit of every motor sport out there on a monster truck
00:48 there's more moving parts on a monster truck than any other competition vehicle
00:52 ever made we have twice as many shocks twice as many gears everything's double
00:56 on a monster truck and it's the best job in the world you know I get to come out
01:01 here and entertain the fans that come out if they didn't come we couldn't do
01:05 it and what else can you do to get adrenaline on Friday night yeah it's
01:09 awesome and you got the dirt crew here with the dozer and of course the dump
01:14 truck here which is awesome but you're pretty excited about one that is down
01:18 that way I don't know if we have another camera on that one but that one you're
01:20 very excited about yeah you know blockhead something we just put together
01:23 at the shop it was an idea we had coming home from show last year we're gonna do
01:27 something different something little kids would like and who hasn't had
01:31 building blocks who hasn't stepped on a building block in the middle of night
01:34 you know so that right there that's my tribute to building blocks right there
01:37 that is fun I love looking at these trucks and what's great about the pit
01:40 party you get to come down and get up close to them as he mentioned these
01:43 trucks are specially made for of course this type of competition this isn't
01:48 something that I can go over to you know the auto store and pick up the pieces
01:51 and stuff could I know we're only we're only in town one time a year and you
01:56 know why you're driving around town today if you hit up those a W's you get
01:58 free pit passes oh I like that so that's cool all right let me ask you this
02:01 ballpark it what does it cost to have just one of these of course trucks made
02:05 well I can tell you that because I just built dozer last year I had 225,000 and
02:09 building that truck Wow but the thing I have to ask you these guys I mean they
02:13 break the trucks when they jump sometimes is that good or bad for you I
02:17 mean that's what they're built to do you know there's times when I get strapped
02:20 in I'm getting ready to do a freestyle I get a little nervous sometimes I got to
02:24 tell myself you know that's what this truck was built to do no one in the
02:27 history has ever been killed in a monster truck it is the safest motor
02:31 sport out there and I tell myself that and I go out and I lay it all on the
02:36 track yeah and that's what's so important here that people have to
02:39 understand these guys have been doing it for years they just like I said before
02:42 just didn't decide last night on whiskey row to come over and just you know
02:46 getting a monster truck it takes practice it takes a lot of time and it
02:50 takes the skill to to really move one of these trucks and so if some kids out
02:54 there wanting to get into what do you suggest to them you know you can do
02:57 anything you want to do if I can do it any fan can do it you know you have to
03:02 have the dedication the work set and just the drive if you have the drive to
03:07 do anything you can do it there it is I like this it is the of course toughest
