00:03 >> All right, fire away.
00:03 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:05 >> Well, obviously a lot of decisions are gonna have to be made at the end of
00:10 this season.
00:11 What would you say about the evolution of the offense as the season went on that
00:16 shows that it's heading in the right direction?
00:18 >> I think this, I think from an efficiency standpoint over the last few
00:23 weeks and feel like we've been playing efficiently,
00:25 we've been playing better in the situational type areas.
00:29 But again, at the end of the season, we'll have an opportunity to really go back and
00:32 look at everything and evaluate from there.
00:34 But I think guys have been on the same page, we're executing.
00:39 So I think we're gonna have, over the last couple of weeks,
00:42 we're gonna fight on the ball a little bit better.
00:44 >> How much did you kinda stick to the core principles and
00:48 philosophies and just try to do them better?
00:50 And how much change do you think you've done to improve that efficiency on third
00:54 downs, red zone?
00:55 >> Yeah, I think there's always constant communication.
00:57 Some of the things that we've changed up the schedule a little bit, but
01:00 I'm calling an emphasis on it.
01:03 But I think that our guys, starting with the quarterback,
01:06 have done a good job down there.
01:07 >> I think when it comes to the red zone, I guess this is what you're saying.
01:12 Was it just a matter of reality that you should be practicing like that?
01:16 >> Well, listen, I think obviously you see different results.
01:20 So obviously I think there's something to that.
01:22 But again, the guys have gone out and
01:24 started to wanna apply their execution and plays in some tough ways.
01:29 Where it may not even be a, it's a tough look, it's just a balance of tough catches.
01:35 >> What have you learned about Derek with the time together that kind of
01:39 accentuates his strengths or found his comfort zone?
01:43 What are some of the things you've really- >> Yeah, I think this.
01:46 I think when you go back and you evaluate,
01:48 I think obviously he's had a lot of comfort in the pocket the last few weeks.
01:51 I think that the play action game has helped with him and
01:54 just make sure that we're all kind of on the same page.
01:59 But I think that the relationship with him and the players has been really good.
02:03 >> [INAUDIBLE]
02:11 >> Yeah, I think that we'll see where it is at the end of the week.
02:14 But obviously, Jamal's been out there.
02:16 He's had a pretty big volume last week for us.
02:19 And someone like Kendrick, when he's had opportunities, he's flashed.
02:23 And I think that just, obviously, he's doing everything in his power to get
02:28 back to where he needs to be to be ready to play, just see where he brings that.
02:33 >> But Jamal, could it be the fact of getting a little bit more carry,
02:38 he's getting into the rhythm flow of the game.
02:40 >> I think that's part of his style, the tough physical style.
02:44 I think sometimes those guys, the more opportunities they have,
02:47 then you start to see some production.
02:49 And I think that, obviously, he had to step in and
02:52 play a lot of plays for us last week and do a good job.
02:55 >> Dennis has talked a lot about the physicality of it, particularly the defense
02:59 one, but I'm wondering what you see from the offensive line in terms of that
03:03 physicality aspect, has it gotten better in the last few weeks?
03:06 >> I think those guys play physical.
03:08 I think that they play together well as a group.
03:11 I think that just more that we keep going here.
03:16 But I think that there's obviously a physical element.
03:18 We haven't necessarily played, or I should say we've played teams that
03:23 have been pretty tough and put a lot of guys in the box.
03:26 And so I think that they've matched physicality.
03:30 >> Those sack numbers have really improved over the back half of the season.
03:34 Is it just a matter of guys playing better or you guys have ironed out some stuff?
03:40 >> It's probably a combination of all those things.
03:42 Maybe what are we doing in our protection plans and
03:45 then maybe the execution of the protection plan and
03:47 then going out there and just blocking them.
03:50 So I think that there's probably a lot to it.
03:53 And it can start with just what are we doing as a scheme wise,
03:56 starting with us and then the actual execution.
03:58 >> Going back to what Mike was kind of asking earlier,
04:03 do you expect any back next season?
04:04 Is that- >> I don't think about those things.
04:06 I'm just worried about Atlanta.
04:08 >> Would you be willing,
04:12 because I don't know, if it's not a game next week,
04:18 it's been an interesting season, obviously,
04:23 and it has not gone the way we wanted, but
04:27 it happens, reflect on how it went.
04:31 I don't know if you want to name some things that we had to figure out.
04:32 >> No, I think again, I think the main focus is on Atlanta.
04:35 And I think that when you go back, I think we had high expectations for
04:39 where this is gonna go, and I think that you're going into the last week and
04:43 those expectations can still be met, but
04:45 we gotta take care of business this week first.
