00:15 The idea was to start using this hydrogen, converting the truck, and make it possible to make a greener race.
00:22 So we separate oxygen and hydrogen from the water using a small hydrolyzer.
00:28 The good point with hydrogen is we can obtain the energy from renewable sources,
00:34 like this photovoltaic source, or for example with green, windy mills.
00:40 This hydrogen is compressed at 350 bar in different carbon fibre tanks,
00:46 and then we reduce this pressure between 8 to 50 bar,
00:50 and we inject this hydrogen, which is free of carbon, inside the combustion chamber of the engine.
00:55 Only in one kilo of hydrogen you have much more energy than one kilo of diesel.
01:01 The engine behaves practically the same, there are some small changes that we're going to make this year,
01:06 and with the same benefits, we're going to face a Dakar like always,
01:11 consuming much less fossil fuels.
01:15 We expect that the race will be tough enough so that we can really demonstrate the technology in very hard conditions.
01:23 We're going to show the world that you can race, or continue racing,
01:28 but intelligently, without taking charge of the planet.
