00:00 How does it feel to be here tonight presenting but also with so many different films?
00:04 I feel so good being here.
00:06 You know, I'm proud of every film that has been acknowledged and nominated and to be
00:12 able to witness firsthand some of the work that went into each of these projects and
00:16 to be a part of so many different projects just feels so special.
00:20 One of those projects of course is Barbie and 2023 was the year of the Barbie movie
00:25 and a great year for women in entertainment.
00:27 How do we bring that energy into 2024?
00:29 Man, you gotta ask the people the powers that be.
00:32 I'm like, we are out here doing the work.
00:34 Greta is an absolute pleasant genius and she was able to like fight for her vision on the
00:42 film but that's also because Margot believed in her to bring her on for this particular
00:46 project and so that's an example of women championing it and believing in other women
00:51 and that had a huge reward.
00:53 It took over the year so I think, you know, in some ways it's up to us to support other
00:58 people, other women for big name actresses to work and champion big name female directors
01:07 but in other ways the industry just has to wise up.
01:11 When you're choosing projects is that something you think about, about working with other
01:14 powerful women?
01:16 I think about working with other powerful women.
01:18 I think about working with other up and coming black people.
01:20 I'm always trying to see who I'm a fan of and who I feel like just deserves that shot
01:27 and sometimes it lends itself to the biggest reward.
01:33 Of course the Golden Globes celebrate the best of movies and TV.
01:36 While you're here for some films you also of course are no stranger to the TV world.
01:41 What's a show from this past year that you especially loved?
01:44 I loved Beef, I loved The Bear, I loved, there's so many, I love Jury Duty so much.
01:52 There's so many shows.
01:53 I'm leaving things out but I've been watching a lot of TV this year and TV is always killing
02:00 it.
02:01 I'm sorry, that's always going to be my medium of choice.
02:02 No offense, I know this is blended but TV, nobody does it like us.
02:06 Speaking of Jury Duty, I talked to Ronald earlier and I was way too excited about it.
02:10 I'm like where's he at?
02:12 He's got to be having the best year ever, the best couple of years, you know, so I'm
02:17 happy for him.
02:18 I know he has like a deal now to produce so welcome to Hollywood Ronald.
02:22 He's in it now.
02:23 Yeah, he has a Hollywood face.
02:25 I can't wait to see what else he does next.
02:27 And now this is the party that kicks off awards season.
02:30 Who from the Barbie crew do you think is going to party the hardest tonight?
02:35 I would have said Simu because, but he like has a torn Achilles so I don't think he's
02:41 going to be able to party that hard.
02:43 So I guess next on the list, I hope it's Greta.
02:46 Greta had a great year but you know she's a mom of two like young kids so I don't know.
02:54 It's going to be me.
02:55 I volunteer myself.
02:56 I'm going to party the hardest.
02:58 I'll take the baton.
