Star winger David Fusitu'a reveals he is in good shape and looking forward to a big year with Leeds Rhinos.

00:02 Happy New Year, all in good shape, looking forward to a big year.

00:07 It's good to be back out training with the boys again, building into Charles' coming.

00:13 Games, not too far off.

00:15 You've had a full pre-season, that must be a boost, obviously you've had a few problems in pre-season.

00:22 Yeah it has been, just getting that consistency of training under my belt,

00:27 just getting my body going throughout these past few months.

00:31 I think it will definitely be a big part of this coming season.

00:36 You finished last year, and you've been getting a squadron train.

00:41 Are you confident to take it up into the New Year campaign?

00:44 Yeah, I thought I'd have a solid end of the year,

00:48 just a bit disappointed getting that early injury early in the season,

00:53 but being able to finish off the way I did, I still feel like I have things to work on,

01:00 but I feel like I've been solid and hopefully can take that into the New Year side of this year.

01:04 Is that the main thing for you, just to get them in the games without any bad luck?

01:10 Yeah, for sure. It's one of those things you just can't control, injuries are part of the game.

01:16 I'm touch wood hopefully that if I do all the little things right again, they're lucky to be on my side.

01:23 How's the squad chipping up?

01:27 Yeah, good, good. The new additions have been great since they've come in,

01:31 I think they've added a lot to the team.

01:34 Also the boys are already here, the younger boys coming through,

01:37 they've added a lot to training and they've improved a lot in the space of a few months.

01:43 I feel like we're looking good getting into the season.

01:46 Are you excited about the new spine, hopefully to plant the ball out wide this year?

01:51 Yeah, there's a lot of skill there and there's a lot of experience as well,

01:57 so it'll be good to have them in a stellar ship and bring what they can bring to our team

02:03 and hopefully we can see a bit more ball out wide,

02:07 but we just have to get those combinations going and get those reps in and go from there.

02:14 You obviously have to fill out the box today, are you hoping to get a game or two in pre-season?

02:20 Yeah, for sure. You always need a run before the season starts,

02:24 so hopefully I can get a game or two before round one and just blow a few of the cobwebs out.

02:33 We haven't been able to have a proper pose, bash,

02:38 you can't really emulate a game until you're out there, so it'll be good to have a run.
