00:03 Snooty swims right up to me as soon as she sees me
00:06 and I'll give her a little treat and a nose rub
00:09 and she's with me for the entire dive.
00:11 She likes to be the center of attention at all times.
00:16 Snooty will push sharks away for snacks, for attention.
00:20 She is the first one to come up and the last one to leave.
00:26 So she is a party girl.
00:29 She was one of the first sharks
00:30 on one of the dives that I worked
00:32 and one of the reasons that I was so excited
00:34 about shark diving in the first place.
00:36 I started diving when I was 12 years old
00:40 and I knew I wanted to work in the ocean ever since.
00:44 Now I'm a professional diver,
00:46 shark videographer and photographer.
00:48 I start my day by prepping my equipment
00:51 and going out to my favorite dive sites in Florida.
00:53 I go out with a team and I work on a boat
00:57 but I will often go out on my days off just for fun.
01:00 I get to see all kinds of marine life
01:01 and capture them on my camera to share with the world.
01:04 Sharks are definitely my favorite companions underwater.
01:07 I have the most rewarding job in the world
01:09 and the most incredible marine friends.
01:12 Snooty is a lemon shark around nine feet long.
01:18 Lemon sharks are definitely the golden retriever of sharks.
01:22 The most social shark you're gonna see.
01:24 They are super touchy feely sharks.
01:27 Other sharks I often see on my dives are bull sharks,
01:32 tiger sharks and sandbar sharks.
01:35 They all have very different personalities.
01:37 I describe bull sharks as the pit bulls of the sea.
01:41 They mostly just have a bad reputation.
01:43 If you've met a pit bull,
01:44 they are oftentimes angel babies.
01:47 I would call tiger sharks a very curious shark.
01:51 They are not easily scared away.
01:54 Tiger sharks are a very bold species
01:57 so they come right up with no fear.
02:00 So when I have them on my dives,
02:02 all the other sharks disappear
02:04 and I just pay attention to the tiger shark.
02:06 The funniest shark that we see in this area
02:10 are the sandbars and I would describe them as squirrels.
02:14 They have a major attention problem.
02:17 They will be interacting and right up in your face
02:22 and all of a sudden they just swim off
02:24 and absolutely forget what they're doing.
02:26 Sharks are obviously very important to me
02:30 so their conservation is as well.
02:33 I often volunteer my time for different organizations
02:36 for shark conservation.
02:38 If we didn't have sharks,
02:39 the whole ecosystem could collapse.
02:42 One of the things I like to show
02:43 is that sharks are not the monsters.
02:45 They're actually vital to our ocean ecosystems.
