Giants Shake up Coaching Staff

00:05 their coaching staff, which includes the dismissal of special teams coordinator Thomas McGahee,

00:11 the resignation of defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, and dismissals of offensive line

00:16 coach Bobby Johnson, outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins, and defensive assistant Kevin

00:21 Wilkins.

00:22 Now, in addition to those newly opened posts, Giants head coach Brian Dable will have to

00:27 fill the running backs coach position, as well as the lead strength and conditioning

00:31 coach roles on his staff after Jeff Nixon and Craig Fitzgerald respectively headed for

00:37 college jobs.

00:38 Of the moves made, Martindale's resignation is probably rocking the team the hardest right

00:43 now.

00:44 Although there was a report by Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer weeks ago suggesting that

00:49 the relationship between Dable and Martindale had deteriorated to the point where a parting

00:53 of the ways was imminent, it's fair to wonder if Dable's decision to jettison the Wilkins

00:58 brothers who were brought over by Martindale from their time together in Baltimore to head

01:02 the Giants defensive staff was the straw that broke the camel's back.

01:06 The Giants defense wasn't quite as strong as it was last season, but by comparison to

01:11 the offense, it was probably the best unit on a 6-11 team.

01:15 So now lies the question of who might replace the 60-year-old Martindale.

01:20 Will it be one of the Giants' current defensive assistants such as Jerome Henderson or Andre

01:24 Patterson?

01:25 Might former Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier be in the picture?
