00:00 In this neighbourhood west of Gaza City, dozens rush towards aid trucks carrying desperately
00:06 needed food.
00:07 As the conflict enters its fourth month, only minimal aid is entering the besieged enclave
00:12 and the UN has warned that many civilians are at risk of famine.
00:17 Here in Rafah, further south, many are living in tents and makeshift shelters.
00:23 The city is densely crowded with those who have been displaced.
00:27 Civilians living in the area say disease is rife.
00:31 Due to the lack of water, we shower just once per month.
00:34 Psychologically, we are suffering and the diseases have spread everywhere.
00:40 Some are living in schools, some on the streets, on the floors and others sleeping on benches.
00:45 The war has not spared anyone.
00:48 The United Nations estimates 1.9 million Gazans are displaced, many of them multiple times.
00:54 Unwanted civilians continue to stream into the enclave's hospitals, which are struggling
00:59 to run with limited supplies and dwindling fuel.
01:02 According to the WHO, none of the hospitals in northern Gaza are functional and the rest
01:07 are only partially functional.
01:10 Describing the situation on the ground as a humanitarian catastrophe, the organisation
01:15 has called for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor.
01:18 The shrinking humanitarian space and the lack of access, and we're not just talking about
01:25 humanitarian supplies into Gaza, but also the humanitarian aid and the workers within
01:30 Gaza so that the aid can be delivered to the people in need wherever they are, in the north,
01:37 in the middle or in the south area.
01:39 As long as there's no ceasefire, humanitarian corridors are required within Gaza to make
01:45 sure that this can happen.
01:47 The Israeli army has said the war is coming into a new phase, involving fewer troops and
01:51 more targeted operations in the enclave's centre and south.
01:55 However, the WHO has said it has not seen a reduction in the intensity of fighting on
02:00 the ground.
