00:23 Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo met with German Foreign Affairs Minister Annalena Baerbock.

00:29 Here, they discussed the strengthening of the cooperation between the two countries,

00:33 especially when it comes to trade and investments, peace and development, and defense cooperation.

00:38 Germany supports the 2016 arbitral ruling that recognizes the Philippines' right to the West Philippine Sea

00:52 and that they will be responsible for the tensions in the South China Sea

00:55 because of China's aggressive action against the Philippine ships, including the laser pointing and water cannon incident.

01:02 Baerbock said it is important for them to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region

01:08 to strengthen free trade and freedom of navigation.

01:12 That's why she emphasized the creation of a mechanism to avoid the tension in the region.

01:18 The exclusive economic zone of each country, that means every country has its own exclusive economic zone.

01:34 Germany also expressed its support for the Philippine Coast Guard through training in maritime security.
