Cris Dishman Named Texas Southern Head Football Coach

Former NFL player and XFL defensive coordinator, Cris Dishman, is named the new head football coach at Texas Southern University in Houston, TX.

00:08 from Texas Southern University out of Houston, Texas.
00:12 We just got word that, not Fred McNair,
00:16 not Brett Maxey, not Andre Johnson,
00:20 but Chris Dishman is now the new head football coach
00:24 of the Texas Southern Tigers.
00:27 Yes, Chris Dishman, who was a long time pro.
00:31 He was originally drafted by the Houston Orleans
00:34 back in 1988, and he was a part of the Young Guns Secondary,
00:39 as well as coach Bubba McDowell,
00:43 who's over at Prairie View A&M.
00:46 Now, the two friends and two compadres
00:49 will clash head to head,
00:51 especially in the upcoming Labor Day Classic
00:55 here in the Houston area.
00:57 That should be fun to see.
00:59 Coach McDowell was very pleased
01:01 that his old friend got the job,
01:04 but there's not going to be any love lost
01:07 between the two when it comes to the Labor Day Classic.
