Meet the woman who takes her woolly jumper wearing cat everywhere - including to the pub.

Heather Barrera, 26, treats her nine-month-old moggie, Posie, to a life of adventure every week.

Posie joins Heather on coffee dates at their local cafe, enjoys trips to the beach and even spends her time at their local boozer.

And the little feline has become well known around their hometown for sporting knitted jumpers - of which she currently has six.

Heather adopted Posie from a rescue shelter in August 2023 and instantly fell in love with her.

Soon after bringing her home and taking her on her first walk, Heather said Posie showed no sign of fear and was full of adventure.

Heather, a social media manager, from Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland, said: "I'd met around eight kittens before her but I never clicked with them like I did with Posie - she was very confident and allowed me to hold her for a while.

"She's got her local now - Malones in Leith - and the bar staff get very excited to see her.

"She loves to sniff my partner and I's pints but she tends to stick to the water.

"She'll have her Dreamies meal sat in the middle of us.

"I remember my first time in the pub with her and she was just so chill - she just wanted to sit around on the floor or on our lap.

"I thought it would take weeks or months for her to get used to it.

"There was a little Chihuahua with her last time and they were very happy together.

"She's been into other pubs as well - Lioness of Leith, which is one of my favourites.

"We've also been to the Brass Monkey pub and Roseleaf which is a cafe that she likes a lot."

Heather and Posie often go for a walk once a week - with Posie on a lead during the colder darker months - but Heather hopes to extend that and take her off the lead as the weather warms up.

She said: "We tend to go out for anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours.

"I usually take her carrier if it's longer than that. Sometimes she's in the sling or in my arms.

"We'd been in Malones for hours once but she was so relaxed and not once did we feel like we had to rush home.

"We don't let her wander around the pub that often but people come up and ask questions and take pictures of her when we are there all the time."

"Because of the winter weather we haven't been to as many places as we'd like but we've taken her to the beach just watching the world go by which was nice."

Posie and her jumpers have become the talk of the town, with locals even offering to knit some for her.

Heather said: "I bought the jumpers for her, I got her a few different ones.

"But when she went viral in our local social media page in Leith someone had offered to knit her a couple."

Heather says her favourite thing about Posie is her personality and her affection.

She said: "Pretty quickly I felt an overwhelming love for her. I love to have her with me all the time.

"She's quite a unique cat.

"I'd like to take her out all the time if I could."

00:00 My name is Heather, this is Posie, she's around about 10 months now. I adopted her in August 2023.
00:25 Due to having her late in the year with winter she doesn't go outdoors as much,
00:30 summer she definitely will. So the areas I end up taking her are local
00:35 pubs and cafes which is absolutely great and she treats it as if it's her home.

01:17 People do have a large smile on their face when they see her. They like to take photos of her,
01:22 they like to then tell me about their cats which I love to hear and they're also just
01:27 very interested. Usually you'll see dogs around here or in pubs and cafes but she's the local cat.
01:32 I remember the last time I saw her was when she was wearing her Christmas jumper and there was a
01:39 little cute wee red one wasn't it? Yeah. What's your name? Her name's Posie. We've just come back
01:45 from the pub which is her favourite place to go to. Without doors she's still a little bit cold.
01:49 She'll be about 10 months now. I take her out a minimum of like once a week, try and do more
01:55 than that. She goes to the pub pretty often to be fair, I do lose count.
