00:34:45 - Geez, you're a happy guy today.
00:34:46 (laughing)
00:34:48 Oh man.
00:34:50 - Straight to the point, you know.
00:34:52 They finished fourth after the ice.
00:34:56 That's very good actually.
00:34:58 - Yeah, it is good.
00:34:58 It's sort of a new position, new elevation if you will.
00:35:02 You had some withdrawals of course, but.
00:35:03 - For all these guys, there's a lot of new things
00:35:06 for them to experience.
00:35:07 You know, we talked about skating last in the short program,
00:35:11 which is traditionally for the champions the year prior.
00:35:14 And that's definitely a role that is something
00:35:18 that most of these guys will have to take on.
00:35:21 So up next, finishing third in the women's event,
00:35:25 Hedi Shi from Ontario.
00:35:27 It's game to shake it off by Taylor Swift.
00:35:29 Now I gotta say before she starts the program,
00:35:31 there's an interesting fact.
00:35:32 If you look on her right wrist,
00:35:34 she's wearing a Cartier bracelet,
00:35:36 which is objectively very expensive.
00:35:37 And I like asked her, why are you doing that?
00:35:39 She's like, just 'cause.
00:35:41 I'm like, all right.
00:35:42 (upbeat music)
00:35:44 - Here we go.
00:35:45 (upbeat music)
00:35:48 (upbeat music)
00:35:50 (upbeat music)
00:35:53 (upbeat music)

00:36:53 (upbeat music)
00:36:57 (upbeat music)
00:37:02 (upbeat music)
00:37:05 (upbeat music)
00:37:10 (upbeat music)
00:37:14 (upbeat music)
00:37:18 (upbeat music)
00:37:22 (upbeat music)
00:37:26 (upbeat music)
00:37:31 (upbeat music)
00:37:34 (upbeat music)
00:37:39 (upbeat music)
00:37:43 (upbeat music)
00:37:47 (upbeat music)
00:37:51 (upbeat music)
00:37:55 (upbeat music)
00:38:00 (upbeat music)
00:38:03 (upbeat music)
00:38:07 (upbeat music)
00:38:11 (upbeat music)
00:38:15 (upbeat music)
00:38:19 (upbeat music)
00:38:23 (upbeat music)
00:38:29 (upbeat music)
00:38:32 (upbeat music)
00:38:36 (upbeat music)
00:38:40 (upbeat music)
00:38:44 (upbeat music)
00:38:48 (upbeat music)
00:38:52 (upbeat music)
00:38:58 (upbeat music)
00:39:01 (upbeat music)
00:39:05 (upbeat music)
00:39:09 (upbeat music)
00:39:13 (upbeat music)
00:39:17 (upbeat music)
00:39:21 (upbeat music)
00:39:26 (upbeat music)
00:39:29 (upbeat music)
00:39:33 (upbeat music)
00:39:37 (upbeat music)
00:39:41 (upbeat music)
00:39:45 (upbeat music)
00:39:49 (upbeat music)
00:39:54 (upbeat music)
00:39:57 (upbeat music)
00:40:01 (upbeat music)
00:40:05 (upbeat music)
00:40:09 (upbeat music)
00:40:13 (upbeat music)
00:40:17 (upbeat music)
00:40:22 (upbeat music)
00:40:25 (upbeat music)
00:40:29 (upbeat music)
00:40:33 (upbeat music)
00:40:37 (upbeat music)
00:40:41 (upbeat music)
00:40:45 (upbeat music)
00:40:50 (upbeat music)
00:40:53 (upbeat music)
00:40:57 (upbeat music)
00:41:01 (upbeat music)
00:41:05 (upbeat music)
00:41:09 (upbeat music)
00:41:13 (upbeat music)
00:41:18 (upbeat music)
00:41:21 (upbeat music)
00:41:25 (upbeat music)
00:41:29 (upbeat music)
00:41:33 (upbeat music)
00:41:37 (upbeat music)
00:41:41 (upbeat music)
00:41:46 (upbeat music)
00:41:49 (upbeat music)
00:41:53 (crowd cheering)
00:41:56 - What a great week for Kelly-Anne Lauren
00:41:58 and Luca Etie from Quebec.
00:42:00 They just sort of rose to a new level,
00:42:03 entered a new zone, if you will,
00:42:05 sort of emerged in the top echelon
00:42:08 of pair skating here in Canada.
00:42:10 - Yeah, I mean, they had such a magical week
00:42:12 and it felt like everything fell into place for them.
00:42:15 Watching their practices and their production
00:42:18 of a short in the free program,
00:42:20 it's anything that a skater can wish for, really.
00:42:24 And I was so happy to see them
00:42:27 to deliver what they've been training for
00:42:31 and yeah, wishing them the best of luck
00:42:34 as they move forward
00:42:36 and watching them on their continued journey for success.
00:42:40 - I've seen them compete over the years
00:42:43 and go through the struggles.
00:42:45 Every athlete does.
00:42:46 But when it all came together,
00:42:48 the joy on Kelly-Anne's face
00:42:50 and Luca's as well was like,
00:42:52 "Oh my gosh, we did this."
00:42:55 Working through hard work and learning
00:42:58 and growing up and all of that.
00:43:01 - Yeah.
00:43:03 So up next, we've got my replacement
00:43:06 for my actual job this week.
00:43:08 - Yeah, what are you doing up here?
00:43:10 - I know, I'm just hanging out with you.
00:43:12 They got the t-shirt toss going on.
00:43:14 I believe Paul Ayers is doing it.
00:43:16 They're trying to figure it out.
00:43:18 - Let's make some noise.
00:43:20 - So the question is,
00:43:22 will the decibels be lower or higher
00:43:24 than they are with you?
00:43:26 - Honestly, I think it could be louder.
00:43:29 Paul is from Calgary, the hometown here.
00:43:32 He has that energy for him.
00:43:34 - If it's louder, it's because he was listening to you.
00:43:37 - Nobody can top my high, shrieking laughter, though.
00:43:40 I have to say, like...
00:43:42 - I wondered where that was coming from.
00:43:45 - Yeah, every time my t-shirt
00:43:47 kind of like did not hit anybody,
00:43:49 I would just start laughing hysterically
00:43:52 and everybody in the ring heard it.
00:43:54 - I saw you shoot it up to a large.
00:43:56 - I did, yeah, we had arranged that
00:43:58 and that was like my only good shot there.
00:44:00 - But that gun was pretty weak.
00:44:02 - It was pretty weak, yeah.
00:44:04 But there was only a couple of times
00:44:06 where it actually was able to shoot.
00:44:08 So hopefully, I'll be in Montreal hosting
00:44:10 and hopefully the gun will be better.
00:44:12 - The air gun, that is.
00:44:14 - The air gun, yes, yes.
00:44:16 - The air gun, the air gun.
00:44:18 - Shooting shirts up in the audience.
00:44:20 - Quick disclaimer right there.
00:44:22 - Yeah, exactly.
00:44:24 - It's great to see a large ball game.
00:44:30 Of course, he is one of the biggest
00:44:32 social media stars out there.
00:44:34 - Absolutely.
00:44:36 - He's turned skating, he's wonderful
00:44:38 in so many ways, his art of skating.
00:44:41 Such a great human being.
00:44:43 - He is a wonderful human being.
00:44:45 - He and I have had so many conversations,
00:44:47 like very intimate, personal conversations
00:44:49 and I've learned so much from him.
00:44:51 He has really helped me with my personal life.
00:44:55 Huge shout out to him.
00:44:57 Honestly, the work that he's been doing
00:44:59 for social media, I always say
00:45:01 he's a social media sensation
00:45:03 and he's such a high quality person.
00:45:05 I'm grateful to know him
00:45:07 and anybody that has found the opportunity
00:45:09 to know him,
00:45:11 I'm so proud of him.
00:45:12 - Here we are, Trevi Show,
00:45:14 Paul Ayer with the t-shirts.
00:45:16 - A little analysis on this now.
00:45:18 - All right.
00:45:20 The only time I can be analytical.
00:45:22 - Whoa, be careful.
00:45:24 - Okay.
00:45:26 - He's got to aim it higher, don't you think?
00:45:28 - But also in fairness,
00:45:30 I have the mic in one hand
00:45:32 and these guys are double handling these guns.
00:45:34 - They're rookies, they need to be safe.
00:45:36 - They got to have it with the mic
00:45:38 and talk into the mic like,
00:45:40 "Hey, I can see you."
00:45:42 - All jokes aside though,
00:45:44 it's fun to be able to do this
00:45:46 and get the audience riled up
00:45:48 and I'm grateful for Skate Canada
00:45:50 for allowing me to have fun
00:45:52 and just enjoying what I do
00:45:54 and bringing the audience in
00:45:56 and that's what we need, right?
00:45:58 We just need the audience to kind of,
00:46:00 they need to buy into us
00:46:02 and support us and doing things like that
00:46:04 is a small part
00:46:06 and as you can see,
00:46:08 Trent kind of messed up there
00:46:10 and I'm going to say...
00:46:11 - No, you're going to have a student
00:46:13 after this to teach you how to do it.
00:46:15 - I'm going to open up a course
00:46:17 if anyone's interested
00:46:19 on how to fire off these t-shirts.
00:46:21 - And how to laugh so loud.
00:46:23 - Exactly, yeah, I know.
00:46:25 Oh my goodness.
00:46:27 - Yeah, that's hilarious.
00:46:29 Oh my God, he's pointing at a great...
00:46:31 Oh, it's okay, it's not too bad.
00:46:33 - That's hilarious.
00:46:35 Oh, Trent hyping up the audience there.
00:46:37 Oh, there we go.
00:46:39 - They don't have a mic to announce you,
00:46:41 so they don't have a mic.
00:46:43 - No, they don't have a mic
00:46:45 so the announcing team,
00:46:47 I think it's someone down there
00:46:49 is in charge of it.
00:46:51 But I had to multitask.
00:46:53 I held the mic, I had the guns,
00:46:55 the air gun and I was hyping up the audience.
00:46:57 I got three things to do at once.
00:46:59 But it's a fun job
00:47:01 and hopefully Montreal will be fun.
00:47:03 Oh, Trent, you got some work to do, buddy.
00:47:05 - Oh man, come on.
00:47:07 Didn't even make it to go over the boards.
00:47:09 - Yeah, Trent, what's going on?
00:47:11 You keep roasting me all week
00:47:13 but you can't even throw...
00:47:15 Oh, jeez, Trent.
00:47:17 - Oh, that's not good.
00:47:19 He can throw the girl across the ice,
00:47:21 he can't get that shirt in the stands?
00:47:23 - Oh, we got a good one.
00:47:25 Let's see how Paul...
00:47:27 Oh, Paul has resorted to hand throwing it now.
00:47:29 It's all right, they got lots of work.
00:47:31 It takes blood, sweat and tears to do it.
00:47:33 - He still doesn't make it.
00:47:35 That's two out of threes.
00:47:37 - He's still not making it to boards.
00:47:39 - It's all right, boys.
00:47:41 After this, I can give you a couple tips and tricks.
00:47:43 - Oh, no, you got some really good material
00:47:45 to jazz around these guys.
00:47:47 - That's funny.
00:47:49 - Oh, my God.
00:47:51 - That's funny.
00:47:53 Trent, we got to do a better job hyping them up.
00:47:55 Those hand signals won't cut it.
00:47:57 - No, and besides, those weak shots,
00:47:59 that won't work either.
00:48:01 - Yeah, yeah.
00:48:03 [laughter]
00:48:05 And fire.
00:48:07 Oh, he's not firing this yet.
00:48:09 He's teasing them.
00:48:11 - You better move towards the boards.
00:48:13 He's not going to make it again.
00:48:15 - That's too funny.
00:48:17 Also, shout out to the ice patchers
00:48:19 and the assistants.
00:48:21 And all the volunteers for this week.
00:48:23 I think it's what they've done
00:48:25 to put out an event like that.
00:48:27 It is incredible.
00:48:29 And obviously, without their help,
00:48:31 we wouldn't be where we're at.
00:48:33 So shout out to everybody
00:48:35 who's been involved in past events,
00:48:36 future events.
00:48:38 We're all grateful for you guys
00:48:40 and look forward to working alongside you.
00:48:42 - Well, Paul and Trent,
00:48:44 you guys need some work to do.
00:48:46 - I think you're going to have to go down
00:48:48 and say, "You're embarrassing."
00:48:50 I mean, if you can't shoot the shirt
00:48:52 over the boards, it's...
00:48:54 - I kind of want to yell at them right now,
00:48:56 but I don't want to blast anybody.
00:48:58 - I can turn the mic off.
00:49:00 - That's all good.
00:49:03 - I'm going to turn it off.
00:49:04 - Okay, so now we're going to get
00:49:06 the ice resurfacing.
00:49:08 So let's talk a little bit...
00:49:10 We're going to stay on
00:49:12 during the ice resurfacing chat
00:49:14 and talk about skating.
00:49:16 Let's first of all go to
00:49:18 the state of skating worldwide.
00:49:20 What are your thoughts?
00:49:22 - Well, I think that out there,
00:49:24 the Americans, Japanese,
00:49:26 South Koreans, and the other countries
00:49:28 out there, they are so competitive.
00:49:30 They are producing high-level skaters.
00:49:32 And you know what? I'm going to be very honest.
00:49:34 I think for us, we're slightly behind.
00:49:36 We've got a lot of work to do,
00:49:38 whether it's from the Federation side,
00:49:40 the skaters' coaches' side.
00:49:43 As a whole, we have a lot of work to do,
00:49:46 I feel, if we want to be competitive
00:49:49 with the field.
00:49:51 For our national team athletes,
00:49:53 we have to look beyond nationals.
00:49:55 Nationals shouldn't be
00:49:57 the peak of the season.
00:50:00 We're going now into the second half of the season.
00:50:03 Those are what I like to call
00:50:05 the championship series.
00:50:07 You have your nationals,
00:50:09 four continents, or Europeans, whatever.
00:50:11 And then you have Worlds.
00:50:13 And then every four years,
00:50:15 you've got the Olympics.
00:50:17 Obviously, I haven't been around skating as much
00:50:19 just because I've been very busy
00:50:21 with the hockey stuff.
00:50:23 But from what I watched this week,
00:50:25 we've had a number of solid skaters out there.
00:50:27 But I think in general,
00:50:29 I mean, as we talked about earlier,
00:50:32 there's a lot of moving pieces to it.
00:50:34 But I'm just going to speak strictly
00:50:36 from the skater's perspective
00:50:38 just because I only retired a couple of years ago.
00:50:41 If it were me, I would really be focused
00:50:44 on putting my head down,
00:50:46 dialing in the work and training,
00:50:48 and really committing myself to the process.
00:50:51 No doubt, it's hard.
00:50:53 It takes a lot of discipline
00:50:55 to be able to produce
00:50:57 and keep up with the standard
00:50:59 that we are dealt with now.
00:51:00 But it also boils down to
00:51:02 doing it when it really matters the most.
00:51:05 If you ever watch our athletes
00:51:07 practice behind closed doors training and whatnot,
00:51:10 you would believe that our skaters
00:51:13 are more than capable of being competitive.
00:51:16 But when it comes to doing it in competition,
00:51:19 a lot of them, they have a little bit of trouble
00:51:22 putting it all together
00:51:24 when it comes to the right time.
00:51:27 That's where we need to get our heads at,
00:51:29 being able to compete.
00:51:31 - So would you say competing more
00:51:33 will help teach them how to compete?
00:51:36 - Absolutely.
00:51:38 There's nothing else that compares to actual competition.
00:51:41 You can only run so many simulations at home,
00:51:44 perform in front of a handful of judges
00:51:47 and get their feedback.
00:51:49 But what really boils down to it
00:51:51 is you need to be able to go and compete
00:51:53 as often as you can
00:51:56 and figure out a system on what works best.
00:51:58 Your brain will start operating differently.
00:52:01 For me, personally, I remember there was a year
00:52:04 I would go to every competition
00:52:06 that there was in the season
00:52:08 and use those opportunities
00:52:10 to really figure out how I would mentally operate.
00:52:13 It's one thing to mentally operate
00:52:15 in training and feel comfortable with your surroundings.
00:52:18 It's another thing to be put into a completely different rink
00:52:21 with a bunch of people watching you
00:52:24 and expect you to perform and step up to the plate.
00:52:26 - I'm not sure quite how to word this,
00:52:29 but to some degree we are a bit spoiled in Canada
00:52:32 because we have nice rinks
00:52:34 and most of the elite athletes
00:52:36 are in pretty good training facilities.
00:52:39 So the environments are comfortable.
00:52:42 When you're in an environment,
00:52:44 it could be here at Nationals
00:52:46 with TV and lights,
00:52:48 that becomes unnatural
00:52:50 because they're not there that often.
00:52:53 - They're not comfortable.
00:52:54 When they go to a rink that's a bit colder,
00:52:56 they're not comfortable.
00:52:58 They need to get more uncomfortable more often
00:53:01 and still produce in order to cover all the bases.
00:53:04 - For me, it sounds a little harsh,
00:53:06 but it shouldn't matter where you compete.
00:53:09 Yes, we're spoiled with nice facilities
00:53:12 and buildings that we get to train and compete in,
00:53:15 but you should still be able to perform the same
00:53:18 if it's in front of zero people
00:53:21 with TV lights and cameras and all that.
00:53:23 As athletes, we're expected to perform no matter what.
00:53:27 That's our job.
00:53:29 We signed up to put ourselves out there,
00:53:32 to have a chance at that 1% success,
00:53:35 whatever that may be.
00:53:37 To some people, it's making the Olympics.
00:53:40 To some people, it's meddling at an international event.
00:53:43 It varies.
00:53:45 My goal was to always make the Olympics.
00:53:47 Unfortunately, that never happened,
00:53:50 but I learned positive lessons
00:53:51 and experiences away from my career
00:53:53 that I feel like these athletes should go through.
00:53:56 With that being said,
00:53:58 I think it's almost irrelevant in where we compete
00:54:01 because we're expected to do our job.
00:54:04 - Strategically, if you were coaching,
00:54:07 would it be good for,
00:54:09 "I'm going to put you in this competition over here."
00:54:12 It's not a very comfortable competition
00:54:14 or the rink is cold or whatever.
00:54:16 Would you strategically do that
00:54:19 in those situations to learn how to compete under varying--
00:54:21 - Absolutely.
00:54:23 Pressure is pressure.
00:54:25 You'll feel pressure whether it's a dead audience
00:54:27 or a lively audience.
00:54:29 You know you're in a competition atmosphere.
00:54:32 That is the same thing across the board.
00:54:34 It doesn't matter what building you're in.
00:54:36 You're in that competitive mindset.
00:54:38 Now we have to work with that.
00:54:40 You're pushing to a corner.
00:54:42 I'm only speaking from personal experience.
00:54:44 I'm not speaking on behalf of any athletes here.
00:54:46 - Got it. Appreciate that.
00:54:48 - Whether it was Thornhill Summer Skate
00:54:51 or Worlds in Saitama, Japan,
00:54:54 I always felt the same nerves,
00:54:57 the same jitters going into my programs.
00:55:00 That's what we have to learn how to work with
00:55:03 because you can do it a hundred times at home
00:55:07 and feel like you have it set
00:55:09 but when you walk into the competition building,
00:55:12 things change.
00:55:14 Anything can happen and your job is to adapt to it
00:55:17 and still perform under the pressure
00:55:19 that life has given you.
00:55:22 - How do you feel that rivalries
00:55:29 are important for the progress?
00:55:32 I don't know if you've had a rivalry.
00:55:34 I know that your friendship with Keegan Messing
00:55:36 didn't start off on the right foot.
00:55:38 You talked about that very openly.
00:55:40 Then you became best friends.
00:55:42 At the same time, you were pushing each other.
00:55:45 We go back to Kurt and Elvis.
00:55:47 Those rivalries within our own country
00:55:50 push this country to a higher level
00:55:52 and perhaps we don't have those rivalries.
00:55:54 No one's fault at this point.
00:55:57 How important do you think rivalries are?
00:56:00 - It's so important to have that competitive edge
00:56:03 not with just yourself but with your peers around you.
00:56:06 For me and Keegan,
00:56:09 we have been very lucky to have
00:56:12 this beautiful friendship blossom
00:56:14 but we know when it's time to work
00:56:16 we're competitive with each other.
00:56:18 Sometimes we'll start chirping each other
00:56:20 to keep it very edgy.
00:56:22 - That's hilarious. What would you say?
00:56:24 - I don't know if it's safe to say on air
00:56:27 but we would sometimes really go at it
00:56:30 especially after competition and behind closed doors.
00:56:34 This is probably the first time I'm going to say this out loud
00:56:36 but we would really go at it behind closed doors.
00:56:40 We would start going at each other
00:56:42 but at the end of it, we know we're still friends.
00:56:45 I think rivalry is so important.
00:56:48 Obviously right now we don't have the volumes
00:56:51 to have a rivalry situation happening for now
00:56:55 and hopefully in the next few years or so
00:56:57 we'll have a really strong crop of skaters
00:57:00 that can get up there and start pushing each other.
00:57:03 - Looking at the men's, this is a change of tide.
00:57:07 We've got Wesley.
00:57:10 This may be relatively new for him.
00:57:14 Of course, you've still got Roman there.
00:57:18 You've still got Conrad there.
00:57:20 Maybe because this tide is changing really radically
00:57:24 that those rivalries will begin.
00:57:27 - They will form.
00:57:29 - One year it will be one person winning.
00:57:31 The next year it will be another person winning.
00:57:33 Then boom, it starts to get a rivalry.
00:57:35 We need that, I think.
00:57:37 - I also think that makes figure skating so interesting.
00:57:39 We have those rivalries
00:57:43 and that little bit of competitive edge
00:57:46 between the competitors.
00:57:48 I think, as we've mentioned,
00:57:51 this is a new generation of skaters coming up.
00:57:54 Fresh faces on the podiums.
00:57:56 Now is their time to really start digging deep,
00:58:00 pushing themselves in training,
00:58:02 pushing themselves in competition.
00:58:04 Naturally, these will form
00:58:06 because in certain events throughout the season
00:58:08 you'll have different guys come out on top
00:58:10 and that automatically creates this reaction
00:58:12 between the Canadian boys,
00:58:14 or Canadian skiers in general,
00:58:16 to really wanting to go after these guys.
00:58:18 When Keegan was above me for a few competitions
00:58:21 I would hone in on him
00:58:24 and try my best in training and competition
00:58:26 to really get after him
00:58:28 and finish on top of him.
00:58:30 Vice versa.
00:58:32 That's what really made the dynamic
00:58:34 between Keegan and I really good.
00:58:36 I think that's what we need
00:58:38 in Canadian skating
00:58:40 is how to take that to the next level.
00:58:42 I think the next year
00:58:43 when they get back to this championship
00:58:45 it'll be in Laval.
00:58:47 I'm not sure if that's announced yet.
00:58:49 It is that when Wesley steps on the ice
00:58:51 and you've got Roman back
00:58:53 I want my title back.
00:58:55 I won in 2020, I want this thing back.
00:58:57 All of a sudden there's a new intensity.
00:58:59 Maybe these types of years
00:59:01 it's a bit of a down year,
00:59:03 we've talked about that,
00:59:05 but might set up for a more successful year.
00:59:08 A lot of the skaters, women and men,
00:59:11 they're relatively new.
00:59:13 They haven't been around for 10 years.
00:59:15 So that rivalry may take a few years
00:59:17 to build that.
00:59:19 Hopefully that does happen.
00:59:21 Hopefully the audience gets connected
00:59:23 to this as well.
00:59:25 We talked about,
00:59:27 let's just see here,
00:59:29 Anthony Parody bringing something
00:59:31 absolutely brand new to the sport.
00:59:33 Of course.
00:59:35 And an interest will follow him.
00:59:37 Olage was an interesting thing
00:59:39 because he had a massive following
00:59:41 and yet he was not the one
00:59:42 that was winning or on the podium all the time.
00:59:44 But his personality
00:59:46 and his performance
00:59:48 was at such a level
00:59:50 that it enhanced the whole experience.
00:59:52 For a fan.
00:59:54 People loved Olage.
00:59:56 As you said, he wasn't able
00:59:58 to get onto the podium at Nationals
01:00:00 or whatnot,
01:00:02 but you can always appreciate
01:00:04 his style of skating
01:00:06 because it's so genuine.
01:00:08 Same thing with Anthony.
01:00:10 He has such a level of character, personality
01:00:12 that we haven't really seen
01:00:14 in Canadian skating.
01:00:16 People in the crowds this week
01:00:18 or online,
01:00:20 they love him.
01:00:22 And I think that now
01:00:24 Anthony has amassed a new following
01:00:26 because what he's bringing
01:00:28 to the table is so fresh.
01:00:30 And he delivered hardcore this week.
01:00:32 Especially the short program.
01:00:34 It was incredible to see.
01:00:36 I don't know if I would have been able
01:00:38 to see that.
01:00:40 I don't know if you saw this,
01:00:42 but normally when the skaters are introduced
01:00:44 they prep themselves
01:00:46 and then they get right into their starting position.
01:00:48 Anthony had a whole choreography set up
01:00:50 going into the starting position
01:00:52 for the short program.
01:00:54 And I thought right then and there
01:00:56 that's what we need.
01:00:58 We need that level of commitment
01:01:00 and that energy.
01:01:02 And I think he's going to take the charge on that.
01:01:04 This is why people love him now.
01:01:06 I think also he'll push the other people
01:01:08 to bring something else other than the jumps
01:01:10 and we'll see what happens.
01:01:11 We've talked a lot about off-air.
01:01:13 We've talked a lot about
01:01:15 what we don't have,
01:01:17 what we're missing.
01:01:19 Of course an audience,
01:01:21 you can't cover that up.
01:01:23 The seats are empty here at least.
01:01:25 Pretty scarce.
01:01:27 And we've talked about where we are
01:01:29 with skating a little bit.
01:01:31 We hope the skaters will continue
01:01:33 to progress and pick up
01:01:35 and get more at a world level.
01:01:38 Because you've got soccer,
01:01:39 and you've got baseball and football
01:01:41 and hockey and professional.
01:01:43 We don't have television now
01:01:45 because television wants it for free.
01:01:47 They don't want to pay.
01:01:49 They want it for absolutely free.
01:01:51 There's lots of challenges
01:01:53 that the sport has
01:01:55 that people don't really know about.
01:01:57 So we have to look at what we do have.
01:01:59 We have a young group of athletes
01:02:01 that are not fully experienced.
01:02:03 When you take a look at a 24-year-old
01:02:05 being the most experienced,
01:02:07 we need to give them time.
01:02:09 They need to produce,
01:02:11 but we need to give them time
01:02:13 and support.
01:02:15 Maybe there's some hope here.
01:02:17 We probably have to think
01:02:19 about how we get more fans
01:02:21 into the live audience.
01:02:23 We came out of COVID.
01:02:25 Not easy.
01:02:27 And so corporate people involved as well.
01:02:29 It is not impossible
01:02:31 because I've been around so long,
01:02:33 too long, I know that,
01:02:35 but the vision never changes
01:02:37 what we want to have.
01:02:39 The process might change
01:02:41 because society is a little bit different,
01:02:43 but you have to find a way
01:02:45 is what we're asking the athletes to do as well.
01:02:47 Yeah, I mean,
01:02:49 the world is changing
01:02:51 and a lot of things are changing.
01:02:53 There's a lot of moving parts,
01:02:55 but at the end of the day,
01:02:57 we're in this sport
01:02:59 because we want to succeed.
01:03:01 Success is different in every athlete,
01:03:03 but if you want to get
01:03:05 a medal,
01:03:06 whether it's Olympic champion
01:03:08 or making the Olympics
01:03:10 or medaling at an international event,
01:03:12 whatever that may be,
01:03:14 we have to be able to
01:03:16 not be afraid of blood, sweat and tears.
01:03:18 We got to work hard,
01:03:20 commit to your coaching team,
01:03:22 commit to the Federation
01:03:24 and it all starts,
01:03:26 honestly,
01:03:28 and I could be wrong for saying this,
01:03:30 but it honestly starts with the skating.
01:03:33 Or get the sponsors,
01:03:34 or get the TVs back in here.
01:03:36 It all starts with the athletes
01:03:38 and how they produce out there
01:03:40 in competition.
01:03:42 I've already spoken a little bit about that,
01:03:44 but it's so important.
01:03:46 We need to give these guys a reason
01:03:48 to be obsessed with our sport again.
01:03:50 I think just emotionless skating
01:03:52 is not going to cut it.
01:03:54 The skaters have to learn
01:03:56 how to connect to the audience,
01:03:58 connect to the judges,
01:04:00 reach out to the people
01:04:02 behind the screen
01:04:04 so that one day
01:04:06 they could translate
01:04:08 from sitting on the couch at home
01:04:10 to sitting here
01:04:12 and watching live in person.
01:04:14 From my personal experience,
01:04:16 I love performing.
01:04:18 I love talking to the audience.
01:04:20 I remember at Skate Canada International
01:04:22 in 2019,
01:04:24 I would start placing bets
01:04:26 with audience members.
01:04:28 I'd go around the corner of the rink
01:04:30 and I'd be like,
01:04:32 "Hey, I'm the best skater in the world."
01:04:34 Things like that.
01:04:36 Those are little quirks
01:04:38 that I felt would help me
01:04:40 make skating a little bit
01:04:42 more cool in a way.
01:04:44 We just need that.
01:04:46 I think watching
01:04:48 the overall event this week
01:04:50 and some events,
01:04:52 you're watching these skaters
01:04:54 and they're still very internal
01:04:56 to themselves.
01:04:58 I think that just comes
01:05:00 with a lack of experience.
01:05:02 -I think that's a big part
01:05:03 of the reason why
01:05:05 we're doing this.
01:05:07 We're doing this
01:05:09 to help the community.
01:05:11 We're doing this
01:05:13 to help the community.
01:05:15 We're doing this
01:05:17 to help the community.
01:05:19 We're doing this
01:05:21 to help the community.
01:05:23 We're doing this
01:05:25 to help the community.
01:05:27 We're doing this
01:05:30 to help the community.
01:05:31 -I think we want to figure out
01:05:33 how we can move forward
01:05:35 but also be competitive
01:05:37 or on par
01:05:39 with the international standard
01:05:41 that is set in front of us.
01:05:43 -We need to all work together.
01:05:45 It's easy to be critical.
01:05:47 The easiest thing in life
01:05:49 is to be critical.
01:05:51 Analytical is fine
01:05:53 because that's analyzing
01:05:55 the realities and doing
01:05:58 the right thing.
01:05:59 -Thank you,
01:06:01 Dr. Koenig.
01:06:03 That's a good insight.
01:06:05 We'll be back in just a few
01:06:07 moments.
01:06:09 We'll start at 3.12.
01:06:11 We have six minutes.
01:06:13 -A six-minute warm-up.
01:06:15 -Thank you.

01:41:39 What a beautiful, sensitive program by the new Canadian champion, man.
01:41:43 Absolutely. You know what? He has worked so hard, and I think that from watching him,
01:41:49 I think, last year's nationals, he had a tremendous, or still has a tremendous amount of potential.
01:41:55 And again, big congratulations to Wesley, and I couldn't think of anyone more deserving to have the national title this year.
01:42:05 And congratulations to his team of coaches, Eileen and Keegan Murphy, as all the other coaches that work there at the Kanawha Skating Club.
01:42:12 They've done an amazing job. They have about 25, 30 male skaters.
01:42:16 It's really great, and he's done a wonderful job. Much more work to come, because this won't be any easier as he moves through his career.
01:42:24 But great start here in Calgary.
01:42:27 I'm just going to introduce our next, quickly, the new Canadian women's champion from right here, home rink, Kaya Ryder. Your thoughts, now.
01:42:35 I think the hometown advantage really helped her. Such a great person. I remember interviewing her the other day,
01:42:42 and I'm complimenting her and asking her questions, and she's off mic saying, "Thank you, thank you, thank you."
01:42:48 I'm like, "Oh my, Kaya, you're too nice." But yeah, no, she had a great weekend. So glad that she pulled away with the win.
01:42:56 She's famous for saying thank you.
01:42:58 Skating to "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Cinematic Pop.
01:43:08 Welcome to your life. There's no turning back. Even while we sleep, we will find you acting for the best.
01:43:26 Be careful, don't go back for another nation. Everybody wants to rule the world.
01:43:36 [applause]
01:43:40 [music]
01:43:42 It's my own design. It's my own way.
01:43:50 No need to decide.
01:43:55 We make the most of it.

01:45:23 And you'll be happy right where you are.
01:45:27 Say it's your life, life, life, life, life, baby.
01:45:32 Put your hand in mine, you might believe it.
01:45:36 Everybody wants to rule the world.
01:45:41 Everybody wants to rule the world.
01:45:45 Everybody wants to rule the world.

01:45:58 Really beautiful performance by Kaia this afternoon.
01:46:01 I was just saying, her programs this season fit her so well,
01:46:06 with her short program kind of representing her youthful energy,
01:46:09 and then with the long program, it really showcases her desire
01:46:14 to be that more performative, emotional, kind of in tune.

01:48:21 I love these guys so much.
01:48:22 I don't know if I've said that many times.
01:48:24 Yeah, about four or five times.
01:48:26 But no, I think that what these guys are doing,
01:48:29 they really embody the spirit of skating is for all ages, right?
01:48:34 And I think with Deanna and her story,
01:48:38 coming back and joining our Canadian team,
01:48:41 I think we should be honored that she graced us with her presence.
01:48:44 That's how big of a fan I am of these guys.
01:48:47 And I wish them the best of luck, the absolute most best of luck
01:48:52 for going into Worlds in Montreal.
01:48:55 But yeah, they had a solid week, obviously rough short,
01:48:59 but they came back with a vengeance to free,
01:49:01 and they came away with the win.
01:49:04 So yeah, great to see them as always.
01:49:07 Yeah, an inspiration for sure for the skaters of today and maybe of tomorrow.
01:49:12 Yeah.
01:49:13 So our final performance of this afternoon,
01:49:20 Piper Gillis and my favorite roommate, Paul Poirier.
01:49:25 I love them so much.
01:49:28 The success that they've garnered, well-deserved.
01:49:31 Are those your chaps?
01:49:33 Basically, yeah, basically.
01:49:35 This is a great number. This is so much fun.
01:49:37 Yeah, they'll be skating to Annie's Song,
01:49:39 and thank God I'm a Country Boy by John Denver.
01:49:43 Here we go.
01:49:53 You fill up my senses
01:49:58 Like a night in a forest
01:50:02 Like the mountains in springtime
01:50:08 Like a walk in the rain
01:50:13 Like a storm in the desert
01:50:18 Like a sleepy blue ocean
01:50:23 You fill up my senses
01:50:28 Come fill me again
01:50:33 Come let me love you
01:50:38 Let me give my life to you
01:50:43 Let me drown in your laughter
01:50:47 Let me die in your arms
01:50:52 Let me lay down beside you
01:50:57 Let me always be with you
01:51:02 Come let me love you
01:51:07 Come love me again
01:51:16 (audience cheering)
01:51:19 Well, my old farm is kind of laid back
01:51:27 Ain't much an old country boy like me can have
01:51:30 It's early to rise, early in the sack
01:51:32 Thank God I'm a country boy
01:51:34 Well, a single kind of life
01:51:36 Never did me no harm
01:51:37 Of raising me a family and working on the farm
01:51:39 My days are all filled with an easy country charm
01:51:42 Thank God I'm a country boy
01:51:44 Well, I got me a fine wife
01:51:46 I got me old fiddle
01:51:47 When the sun's coming up
01:51:48 I got cakes on the griddle
01:51:49 Life ain't nothing but a funny, funny riddle
01:51:52 Thank God I'm a country boy
01:51:54 When the work's all done
01:51:56 And the sun's setting low
01:51:57 All I have is a fiddle
01:51:58 And a cross to cut the bow
01:51:59 The kids are all asleep
01:52:00 So I keep a kind of bow
01:52:02 Thank God I'm a country boy
01:52:04 Well, I got me a fine wife
01:52:05 I got me old fiddle
01:52:06 When the sun's coming up
01:52:07 I got cakes on the griddle
01:52:09 Life ain't nothing but a funny, funny riddle
01:52:11 Thank God I'm a country boy
01:52:14 Well, my daddy taught me all
01:52:34 How to hunt and how to riddle
01:52:36 Taught me how to work the plow
01:52:37 And how to feed the cattle
01:52:38 He taught me how to love
01:52:39 And how to give just a little
01:52:42 Thank God I'm a country boy
01:52:45 That is so much fun.
01:53:04 Love those guys.
01:53:06 Really fitting for the crowd this afternoon.
01:53:10 Impromptu performance from Deanna and Max there.
01:53:13 Interesting choice of hat from Max.
01:53:16 I'm not sure it was cowboy, but close enough.
01:53:19 We'll take it.
01:53:20 But yeah, what a wonderful way to close off the gala.
01:53:23 Followed up by the group number,
01:53:26 which is actually choreographed by Kaitlyn Osmond.
01:53:29 Yeah, my commentary partner.
01:53:30 Love her. She's awesome.
01:53:32 She did great work this week.
01:53:33 And shout out to her for putting all these guys together
01:53:36 and pulling something together within the hour.
01:53:39 Have you choreographed an exhibition?
01:53:42 Not a group number, but for me,
01:53:45 I actually don't choreograph stuff.
01:53:47 I just make stuff up as I go through the program.
01:53:50 Oh, I see, when you skated yourself.
01:53:52 Yeah, when I skated.
01:53:53 But I've never choreographed for anybody else.
01:53:55 I don't think it's something that I'd be interested in.
01:53:57 Well, the choreographing the group number is like herding cats.
01:53:59 Yeah.
01:54:00 Especially with the young.
01:54:02 She actually asked me earlier this week if I could help her
01:54:05 kind of like just keep them in line.
01:54:06 I'm like, no, I think you guys have like, you know,
01:54:09 more than capable people and whatnot.
01:54:12 But I'm looking forward to what she has for us this afternoon.
01:54:16 And huge congratulations to all athletes this week.
01:54:18 It's been such a pleasure watching each and every one of them,
01:54:21 you know, perform.
01:54:23 And we can only go up from here.
01:54:25 Yeah, you know, there's work to be done,
01:54:27 but the heart is there.
01:54:29 And they're on their journey.
01:54:31 We talked about this.
01:54:32 It's a new generation of skaters.
01:54:35 It's going to take a while to mold together.
01:54:37 And we need to inspire them and support them.
01:54:39 It starts with them.
01:54:41 It starts with them.
01:54:42 That's right.
01:54:43 If you want, you know, the jam-packed audience, if you want the TV,
01:54:46 if you want all these things, it starts with the skaters.
01:54:49 And they all know what they need to do and the process that it takes
01:54:53 and the discipline.
01:54:54 And so, yeah, I'm really excited to see what we have from them
01:54:58 in the next number of years.
01:55:00 [MUSIC]
01:55:04 Yeah, sort of checking with each other, okay, where do we go now?
01:55:06 Yeah, it's always like that.
01:55:08 I saw Anthony, and he's the guy that's the most --
01:55:10 [LAUGHTER]
01:55:11 He's like, "Where do we go?
01:55:12 What steps are we doing?"
01:55:13 Like, yeah, like for those of you that don't know, when, you know,
01:55:17 the skaters have to come together and choreograph the finale,
01:55:20 we only get an hour, actually.
01:55:22 And so there's not a lot of time.
01:55:24 And normally it's just, you know, to have fun, right?
01:55:27 And hopefully you guys can see through TV or in person,
01:55:31 like they'll just be laughing with each other
01:55:34 and enjoying every moment of it.
01:55:36 And have some sort of loose organization to it.
01:55:39 Exactly, exactly.
01:55:40 It's always good to let loose, and that's what today is all about, right,
01:55:43 without the judges, without the pressure.
01:55:45 Just let your hair down and have fun.
01:55:48 And, yeah, look at them.
01:55:50 They're trying to figure it out.
01:55:51 All right, all right, here we go.
01:55:53 Okay.
01:55:54 Oh, this is pretty interesting.
01:55:56 I think you can lift the other.
01:55:57 Let's go.
01:55:58 What's happening?
01:55:59 There it is.
01:56:00 There it is.
01:56:01 Okay.
01:56:02 Gold star right there.
01:56:03 Gold star.
01:56:04 Good job.
01:56:05 Yeah.
01:56:08 This is fun.
01:56:09 This is cool.
01:56:11 I would like to be part of this number.
01:56:13 Yeah, you had a chance.
01:56:14 He asked you and you said no.
01:56:15 I had a chance and I said no.
01:56:17 But I'm also wearing hockey skates because I actually don't own a pair of
01:56:19 figure skates anymore.
01:56:20 Oh, that's good PR.
01:56:22 I mean, well done now.
01:56:23 I mean, we're at a figure skating event.
01:56:25 The national champions.
01:56:26 I don't own it.
01:56:27 Yeah, I know.
01:56:28 I did the t-shirt toss in hockey skates.
01:56:30 So not very good branding, but that's okay.
01:56:33 Yeah, got to work on that.
01:56:34 Yeah.
01:56:35 Here we are with the ladies.
01:56:36 They've got something to flex.
01:56:37 Let's go.
01:56:39 Go.
01:56:45 Oh, yeah.
01:56:46 Oh, yeah, double axles.
01:56:47 Whoa, you're watching not the monitor here.
01:56:50 This is where you got to watch.
01:56:51 Oh, I'm not watching.
01:56:53 You're talking about something people aren't watching here, man.
01:56:57 I still got lots of work to do.
01:56:59 That's okay.
01:57:00 Oh, we have a duet number.
01:57:02 There we go.
01:57:03 Oh, look at that.
01:57:04 [Laughter]
01:57:07 Where's Wesley?
01:57:08 I love this.
01:57:10 I'm getting a good kick out of this.
01:57:12 Oh, here we go.
01:57:13 Anthony with the cantilever.
01:57:15 Nice.
01:57:16 Field moves.
01:57:17 I don't know how he does that.
01:57:18 We don't see a lot of field moves these days, hey?
01:57:20 No, they've got the choreographic sequence.
01:57:23 Yeah.
01:57:24 It would be cool if we could increase the length of programs to have more room to just be expressive.
01:57:32 Man, when I skated it was five minutes.
01:57:34 No one wants to watch you skate for five minutes no matter how good you are.
01:57:37 I did four minutes and 40 seconds.
01:57:40 That I felt was the perfect length.
01:57:42 Yeah.
01:57:43 I don't know.
01:57:45 What do I know?
01:57:46 I know nothing.
01:57:47 Oh, you know a lot.
01:57:48 Not everything.
01:57:51 Pair section, Deanna Max, trademark deadlift--or, nope, death spiral.
01:57:57 Yeah, there we go.
01:57:58 I said--
01:57:59 What edge is that death lift?
01:58:00 [Laughter]
01:58:02 Not good.
01:58:03 Man, not good.
01:58:04 I've got to start watching figure skating more.
01:58:07 I've got to balance it out with the hockey.
01:58:09 Yeah, there you go.
01:58:11 Oh, this is cool.
01:58:12 This is a great show move.
01:58:14 Up and down the headbangers, is that what it's called?
01:58:16 Well, it's called the airplane.
01:58:18 Oh, okay.
01:58:19 But headbangers also work.
01:58:20 Yeah.
01:58:21 It depends.
01:58:22 Yeah.
01:58:23 My hockey players get a kick out of watching figure skating
01:58:25 because I make them watch some of these guys.
01:58:28 Oh, that's good, yeah.
01:58:29 They have an appreciation for the sport, which is great.
01:58:33 Yeah, yeah.
01:58:37 Nice edge quality.
01:58:39 There we go, working our transitions and skating skills.
01:58:42 [Music playing]
01:58:47 Yeah, great job to Caitlin for putting all of this together.
01:58:50 Yeah, not easy with like an hour or whatever they have.
01:58:53 It's not very much.
01:58:54 Yeah.
01:58:55 A couple late stragglers coming into their life.
01:58:57 [Laughter]
01:58:59 Oh, they all look like they're getting the steps right here.
01:59:01 That's pretty good.
01:59:02 Almost a synchro team there.
01:59:03 Yeah.
01:59:04 Shout out to synchro.
01:59:05 I love synchro.
01:59:06 I'm going to keep saying that.
01:59:07 No, it's true.
01:59:08 It's amazing, amazing.
01:59:10 Better live.
01:59:11 Yeah.
01:59:12 Oh, this is great.
01:59:14 Oh, come on, Wesley.
01:59:16 Get with the team there.
01:59:18 You're national champion.
01:59:19 You got to rep that title, man.
01:59:20 Yeah.
01:59:22 Roman's like in his element.
01:59:24 Oh, yeah.
01:59:25 Yeah.
01:59:26 I'm not even watching the monitor.
01:59:27 I'm just watching like in person.
01:59:28 Like Roman's in his element.
01:59:29 He's a dancer at heart.
01:59:31 There you go.
01:59:34 Okay, I'll turn the mic off.
01:59:36 You can speak if you want.
01:59:37 No, it's okay.
01:59:38 [Laughter]
01:59:39 He was about to scream at that wall.
01:59:40 I was about to scream at the top of my lungs, but I will spare all of your guys' ear buds.
01:59:44 Yeah, there you go.
01:59:45 But, yeah, again, massive congratulations to everybody involved this week.
01:59:50 It's always great to have the skaters come together for an event like this and, you know,
01:59:54 for the volunteers, officials, staff of Skate Canada.
01:59:58 And, you know, we ask the people that are listening to this, when Skate Canada comes to town,
02:00:02 no matter whether it's, you know, pre-Novice, Novice, or a Novice, Champion, or Synchro,
02:00:07 or whatever it is, come out and support the athletes.
02:00:10 We need to rebuild our audience.
02:00:12 We need to ask them to come back.
02:00:13 We need to do a better job, obviously, as broadcasters, as an association.
02:00:19 We all need to do better, but we need to do it together.
02:00:22 And if you can come and support the skaters in the stands, it makes the production better.
02:00:26 It makes the environment for the athlete better.
02:00:28 That's the priority, of course.
02:00:30 We need everyone in our country.
02:00:32 We were the best at events.
02:00:34 We were the best in the building, the most enthusiastic and educated fans.
02:00:38 We need to rebuild that, but we need your help to do so.
02:00:41 Make figure skating great again.
02:00:43 Yeah, and we're going to--okay, no red hats for that one.
02:00:46 [laughter]
02:00:49 So that's okay, but we hope that we can--everyone do their job and get back on top
02:00:55 and become alive and relevant again.
02:00:59 Yeah.
02:01:00 Hi, Wesley!
02:01:02 Oh, that was--[laughs]
02:01:04 Yeah, he heard you.
02:01:05 There we go.
02:01:06 There we go.
02:01:08 Yeah, what a fun afternoon today was.
02:01:10 Thank you to Calgary for hosting us.
02:01:12 Yeah.
02:01:13 And looking forward to where we end up next year.
02:01:15 Thanks to the Winsport Arena here in the Canada Olympic Park.
02:01:18 They have a great facility and wonderful people helping us out.
02:01:21 And the Alberta section, really have to mention them.
02:01:23 They've had a lot of volunteers come from around the province to help pull this event off.
02:01:29 We thank them, and thank you for the Arctic Cortex that cooled down everything.
02:01:35 [laughs]
02:01:36 I don't know if I'd be thanking that.
02:01:37 That was pretty brutal to walk in with this lordy.
02:01:39 Hey, well, last year, World Junior Championships here, same thing.
02:01:42 Yeah, absolutely.
02:01:43 It was incredible.
02:01:44 Absolutely.
02:01:45 We want to thank everybody that makes this work.
02:01:46 And the Skate Canada staff, they work long, long hours.
02:01:50 It's really incredible for the work that they do.
02:01:52 They go silently in the background.
02:01:54 It's about the skaters and the coaches and the judges, but the staff do a wonderful job.
02:01:58 I have to thank our broadcast crew here.
02:02:00 It's just a remarkable group.
02:02:02 What we do with so few people, it's extraordinary.
02:02:07 And, of course, I just want to really highlight Steve Muffin and Joni McPhail,
02:02:11 who are amazing in organization and technology.
02:02:15 I have the easy part.
02:02:17 I sit in the chair and I talk about the sport that I love.
02:02:19 So I can't do what I do without all the incredible work that they do.
02:02:26 And, of course, all of our camera people as well.
02:02:29 You know, just the production crew is so special.
02:02:31 So thank you to them.
02:02:33 Thank you to Skate Canada staff.
02:02:35 Thank you to Calgary and the volunteers of Alberta.
02:02:39 And, Nam, you know, it's been great to work with you.
02:02:41 Really love talking to you at the intermission.
02:02:43 Much more to say.
02:02:44 I'm sure we'll have you on the broadcast many more times in the future.
02:02:47 And we look forward to you helping us build back the sport.
02:02:51 Absolutely.
02:02:52 Thank you very much, Ted, for the opportunity.
02:02:54 And it was really fun to chat with you and enjoy some great skating.
02:03:00 And I had so much fun this week hosting and riling up the audience,
02:03:04 misfiring my air cannon and whatnot.
02:03:07 But great experience to be back around the figure skating environment again
02:03:10 after being around hockey for a long time now.
02:03:13 And my next project is buying you a pair of plastic figure skates.
02:03:16 Yes.
02:03:17 So we don't see you there.
02:03:18 Okay.
02:03:19 We hope you've enjoyed the show.
02:03:20 We hope you've enjoyed the competition here from Calgary.
02:03:22 Next up for us will be the pre-novice novice challenge event that will
02:03:25 happen in Oakville.
02:03:27 And we will broadcast that.
02:03:28 No commentary on that, but we'll bring you all the skates.
02:03:31 So look forward to that.
02:03:33 Thank you for watching, everyone.
02:03:34 Safe drive home.
02:03:36 And for all of us here at Skate Canada, the very best in the new year.
02:03:42 Thank you for watching.
