New York Giants receiver Parris Campbell will be a UFA this off-season and is unlikely to be back. We explain why.

00:00 The New York Giants signing of receiver Paris Campbell to a one-year deal last year was
00:11 a head-scratcher in that it never really seemed like the team had a concrete plan for his
00:15 deployment.
00:17 Campbell has deep speed ability and can return kickoffs, but he really wasn't used in those
00:22 roles.
00:23 And as the season wore on, it just seemed that Campbell became the backup to Darius
00:27 Slayton, who finished as the team leader in receiving yards.
00:31 Campbell only appeared in 12 games for the Giants, catching 20 of 27 pass targets for
00:36 104 yards and no touchdowns.
00:39 And his pass target average was a mystifying 3.9 yards per target, the lowest of his five-year
00:45 NFL career.
00:46 Given the lack of targets, which would suggest that Campbell was an afterthought in the Giants'
00:51 offense, it's clear that the first player in team history to don jersey number zero will
00:56 be a one-and-done player as the team looks to move in a different direction at the receiver
01:00 spot in 2024.
