Man accused of sending million of SMS appears in court

It's been revealed a Sydney man who police say is behind an SMS scam is accused of sending more than 17 million messages in just a week. The 39-year-old has appeared in court on charges with a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

00:59 Mr Su was already facing a charge of using equipment connected to a network to commit a serious offence.
01:05 Today in court it was revealed he's also been charged with dealing with identity information,
01:09 which has a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
01:13 According to court documents, the second charge relates to the alleged use of passport and driver's licence information
01:20 with the intention of committing or facilitating fraud.
