00:00 The Justice Department investigated the issue of visa to more than 500 Peking corporations.
00:09 According to Secretary Remulia, these were accepted by the Bureau of Immigration,
00:13 even if it was not validated.

00:27 in the dangerous thing that they discovered,
00:30 the number of visas issued by the agency to Peking corporations and sole proprietorship.
00:36 We have a finding that many corporations that were petitioning for 9G visas
00:43 are fake corporations or non-entities which the legal department of the Bureau of Immigration allowed.
00:53 That's why I'm investigating this five years back to stop this nonsense.
00:59 With the help of the legal department of the Bureau of Immigration,
01:03 all kinds of visas were issued to Peking corporations,
01:08 but most of them were for Pogos,
01:10 particularly the 9G visas that foreign nationals need to work here in the Philippines.
01:17 According to Remulia, these corporations were accepted by the Bureau of Immigration even if it was not validated.
01:22 This is a tip of the iceberg. This is deep.
01:25 This is a syndicate.
01:27 It's an affront to our sovereignty.
01:31 Secretary Remulia cannot say the exact number of visas issued,
01:35 but it will reach 1,000 to more than 500 corporations.
01:40 According to the Bureau of Immigration,
01:42 the DOJ was recommended in November to issue visas to Peking corporations
01:48 about what they discovered in the Audit Verification and Compliance Division.
01:51 They cancelled the visa that reached 459 foreign nationals.
01:55 They were ordered to leave the country.
01:57 And with that, they were blacklisted,
02:01 meaning they will not be allowed to re-enter the Philippines in the future.
02:05 As well as issuance of show-cause orders against those who are involved in the application.
02:11 Among them are four lawyers of the BI who were removed from their positions while the investigation was ongoing.
02:17 As well as other agencies whose possible associates.
02:21 The next visa task force was also called.
02:24 We're expecting maybe more than 1,000 foreign nationals who have been issued visas
02:32 despite having fake companies that we can uncover in our audits for the past five years.
02:40 The Senate also investigated the issue.
02:43 This is a national security risk.
02:45 We don't know. Maybe syndicates and criminals are already entering the country.
02:50 We also have information that these work visas are what foreign nationals use to work for Philippine offshore gaming operators.
