00:03 - I know it sounds like really crazy,

00:05 but I know my person is on the other side.

00:07 (upbeat music)

00:09 - What's dating like outside of here?

00:13 You don't find connections anymore.

00:15 - I can't find someone who wants to connect

00:18 on a more intimate level.

00:20 - I think I've been ready to meet the person,

00:22 I just haven't figured out how to go about it.

00:24 - I literally have everything in my life,

00:26 but I just don't have my person.

00:27 I'm ready to go head first into this experiment.

00:30 - There's no other distractions,

00:31 no other little things I have to worry about.

00:33 It's just me and them.

00:35 - I don't know these people from a can of paint,

00:37 and I have to open up to ensure

00:38 that I can get a good connection with them.

00:41 - Something I've learned about myself.

00:43 Hmm, wow, why am I getting emotional?

00:47 Oh gosh, that is happening.

00:49 - I lost my mom at an early age at 12 years old.

00:52 I'm so proud of just all that I've overcome

00:54 and where I have been able to go based on that happening.

00:57 - My parents came to this country for me,

01:00 and I feel like I've been able to repay them

01:02 in the sense that I've accomplished all the goals

01:05 that I've set forth for myself.

01:06 - I'm super proud of how ambitious I've been

01:08 in achieving my goals for my future family.

01:11 - Making sure that I'm my biggest priority

01:13 and constantly working on being a better version of myself.

01:15 Sorry, we have to start over.

01:17 - I'm ready to find love now because I love myself,

01:21 and in order to love someone else,

01:22 you have to be in tune with yourself.

01:24 - People will tell you that I'm someone that gives my all,

01:27 and I'm very compassionate about everything that I do.

01:30 - Something I'm not gonna sacrifice is my integrity.

01:32 I'm a strong, proud black woman.

01:34 I stand strong in the things that I believe in.

01:36 - He would have to have the understanding

01:38 that my daughter and possibly even our future children

01:41 will always come first.

01:43 - Whether I'm blessed enough to have them myself

01:45 or have to adopt, it would be a deal breaker

01:47 if they didn't wanna have children.

01:48 - I have empathy to a fault, and I wear that on my sleeve.

01:52 - I know where I'm going, I know who I am,

01:54 and I'm not willing to compromise on that for anybody,

01:56 especially someone I'm dating.

01:58 - So how I'm feeling going into this experience?

02:02 - Uh, hmm.

02:03 - I am extremely nervous, excited, scared.

02:07 - I'm actually curious to see,

02:08 like, can someone fall in love with me

02:10 just by talking to me and hearing my voice?

02:12 - I wanna see if my husband is here.

02:14 When will I meet him?

02:15 What does he look like?

02:16 - I'm looking for somebody who can make me laugh.

02:18 I'm big on having a best friend as my partner.

02:20 - Someone to grow and really match my energy with.

02:23 - All the girls are super nice,

02:25 and we're all very excited to find our husband.

02:27 (laughs)

02:28 - Yeah, I've been single for the last four years.

02:31 I'm ready to find love, I'm ready to get married.

02:33 - I've been ready for a while now.

02:34 I'm ready to find that person.

02:35 I'm here for a bigger purpose.

02:37 - I've always wanted a family,

02:38 and I think now's a good time to kinda start that process.

02:41 - It's gonna be a process that really works well for me,

02:44 because it takes me a while to open up

02:45 and get comfortable with somebody.

02:47 - I've learned that people can surprise you,

02:49 and what you may think someone is going to be like

02:52 can totally change once you start dating them.

02:54 - We're all trying to find that perfect person,

02:57 but understanding we're all on the same page,

02:59 and we're all looking for that same thing,

03:01 just a little bit of understanding goes a long way.

03:03 - This experiment, as weird as it is,

03:04 I actually appreciate the logic behind it.

03:07 - I don't think there is anything that I wouldn't sacrifice

03:10 and I think my commitment to this is evidence of that.

03:16 and I appreciate what life has given me.
