00:00 2024 is going to usher in a brand new generation of artificial intelligence.
00:04 For example, we're going to see the rise of AI agents that can autonomously complete a task
00:10 from start to finish. For instance, you could prompt an agent to come up with a marketing
00:16 strategy, who will then conduct the research, come up with the graphic design, then automatically
00:21 schedule it out. In one swoop, it could replace a copywriter, marketing manager, and graphic
00:26 designer. Great if you're wanting to increase your profits, not so great if you offer these or other
00:32 information-based services, in which your customers will bypass you and use AI directly to solve
00:39 their problems and save money. Which is why you need these four critical skills to avoid getting
00:46 replaced in 2024. The fourth is the most important. The first, AI literacy. I cover in detail in my
00:53 new upcoming book, The Wolf Is At The Door, how to survive and thrive in an AI-driven world.
00:59 AI literacy refers to the set of skills and knowledge that empowers you to understand and
01:06 interact with AI successfully. This is crucial for two reasons. The first, you must understand if
01:13 your skill set is in a prime position to be automated, thereby buying you time to adapt.
01:19 The second, you put your own career at risk by not understanding its current capabilities within
01:26 your industry. To identify the opportunities and threats, list down every single thing you do in
01:32 your job role, and for a minimum of 14 days, use AI to perform the work that you currently do,
01:39 and see if it can replicate your expertise and work. By doing this, a couple of things will be
01:45 revealed to you. How it can speed up your existing work, gaps in your own knowledge base, and problems
01:52 that customers or your boss may encounter if they use AI directly that only you can solve.
01:59 From here, you may need to ask yourself a very confronting question. What is your unique
02:04 advantage if AI can perform your work faster, cheaper, and better than you can? If you can't
02:11 answer that question now, then download the free chapter from my new book so you're ready for 2024.
02:18 The second skill that you need is prompt engineering. Prompt engineering is the
02:23 process of structuring text to be interpreted and understood by generative AI models like
02:29 ChatGPT or MidJourney to produce the best possible output. At the start of 2023, we saw the rise of
02:37 prompt libraries, where you could search a database of prompts that you can then use.
02:41 But here's the thing, you don't need to purchase a prompt library. You can ask the AI to create
02:49 these prompts for you. But what does a good prompt look like? Well, it needs to include some of the
02:55 following. The first, assigning a role to the AI. For example, a marketing manager with 30 years of
03:02 experience, an editor that has worked at the New York Times, or a sales rep that has decades of
03:08 experience converting high-profile clients to customers. The more specific you are in assigning
03:14 that role to the AI, the better the output you'll get. Once you've assigned the AI a role, then ask
03:21 for its assistance by being specific, clear, and providing context. The more high-quality
03:27 information you provide it, the better the output will be. But here's where it gets weird. ChatGPT
03:33 is now behaving as if it has emotions. A study conducted showed that the quality of ChatGPT's
03:40 responses improved drastically when the prompts included emotional cues like, "This is very
03:46 important to me," or "This plays a significant role in my career." It was also found that pretending
03:52 to tip ChatGPT for its work led to better work and more detailed responses. This makes sense,
04:00 as AI has been trained on human behavior. Treating it as such is going to produce a better output,
04:07 even if it does feel weird. The third critical skill of 2024 is something that isn't being used
04:14 as much as it needs to be right now. As AI ramps up, we must deploy critical thinking and look at
04:21 how developments will impact us. Here's where I recommend conducting your own SWOT analysis.
04:27 For example, begin by identifying your strengths. What are the things you or your business does
04:34 exceptionally well? These could be unique selling points that AI technologies will have a hard time
04:41 replicating. Follow this by identifying your weaknesses. What are the areas of your business
04:47 or skill set that could be improved or are less competitive? As you identify these areas, consider
04:54 how AI may be able to strengthen them or how you can work to improve them independently.
04:59 After you've identified your weaknesses, it's now time for the opportunities.
05:04 These are external factors that your business could potentially exploit for its advantage.
05:10 They could come from market trends, changes in technology, or shifts in customer behavior.
05:16 For instance, a growing demand for personalized service or expanding your offerings leveraging AI
05:22 technologies. Follow this by identifying the threats. These are external challenges your
05:29 business faces and could include the risk of clients or a boss choosing an AI solution over
05:35 your service. By identifying these threats, you can develop strategies to mitigate them.
05:41 For example, AI may devalue your services because clients can get faster and more detailed responses
05:48 from AI instantaneously. To combat this, it may require training an AI model specific to
05:55 the proprietary information you have to create a competitive advantage. That's why I've included
06:02 a link below to download your free chapter from my new book so you're prepared for the upcoming
06:07 changes. But before you download it, here's the most important skill of all, pattern recognition.
06:14 Human intuition has long been seen as a form of pattern recognition. Our brains have evolved to
06:20 recognize patterns outside of subconscious thought, subtly picking up on hints and gathering
06:25 information from our peripheral awareness. Big tech is essentially monetizing human intuition
06:33 to create generative content. Where we need to apply it is by observing the trends in which AI
06:39 is headed so we can take advantage of the opportunities and adapt to the threats.
06:44 For example, we're already seeing AI used to generate leads and call prospects with lifelike
06:51 sounding voices. It's been integrated into website and graphic design and video generation.
06:57 This will over time push down the cost of services, forcing business models to evolve.
07:03 Why? Because it's democratizing information. Invest time each week reading up on the trends
07:09 so you can start to see the larger patterns unfolding, especially within your own industry.
07:15 Finding and understanding patterns is a crucial element of problem solving in an AI driven world.
07:21 It allows you to adapt before you're forced to. Make sure you equip yourself now by understanding
07:27 the problems and possibilities by downloading your free chapter from The Wolf Is At The Door
07:33 so you can navigate your way to success in an AI driven world.
