00:00 - Can you give us a peek behind the curtain, so to speak?
00:03 Does Aaron prescribe to free weights versus machines?
00:06 Does he prescribe to flexibility, yoga?
00:10 What exactly, you know, I know everybody,
00:12 every player is different.
00:13 Every player is gonna get a different routine,
00:15 but what are some of the staples
00:16 of what Aaron incorporates in training athletes?
00:21 - Yeah, I mean, a lot of it, at first it just has to,
00:23 it comes down to doing a proper assessment on the players,
00:26 you know, working really collaboratively
00:27 with the medical staff, which we ended up doing.
00:28 Like we were talking with Ronnie and his staff
00:31 every single day, meeting with them every single day,
00:32 talking about what is going on with the players,
00:35 you know, things that we knew about,
00:37 things that we didn't know about,
00:38 because a lot of it, again, there's an onus on the players.
00:41 And so from that, you understand
00:43 that each position has specific demands,
00:45 whether he's talking to the position coaches,
00:46 the coordinators, about what it is
00:47 that they wanna see from them,
00:49 or from the higher-ups, the admins,
00:51 the GMs about, okay, this is what this player is,
00:55 this is what he needs to improve upon,
00:56 this is what we can do in the moment
00:58 to help train them and get them better,
00:59 to be able to handle those demands of practice,
01:01 to be ready to handle these workloads on game day.
01:05 And so you kind of deconstruct that and you work backwards,
01:07 and then you start programming and planning.
01:09 So, you know, ultimately there's no one,
01:11 you know, hey, it's all dumbbell stuff,
01:13 it's all barbell stuff, like everything's in the mix.
01:15 And you've probably seen the Giants weight room.
01:17 I know it's gone through a transformation
01:19 and a renovation since he came in, he transformed it,
01:22 he left, you know, they brought in a new staff,
01:24 they transformed it again.
01:26 So I assume that there's gonna be a shift there too,
01:30 you know, with the potential to continue
01:31 to bring on improvements and do what's necessary
01:34 to have the right resources to be able to train the players
01:36 the way that they need to be trained,
01:37 to get ready for practice and get ready for games.
01:40 So again, it's just programming specifically
01:45 for each individual position group,
01:46 for each individual player,
01:48 'cause they all have different backgrounds.
01:49 Some have a lot of wear and tear,
01:50 some have been vets for, you know, eight, nine, 10 years,
01:53 some are rookies that don't have anything limiting them
01:56 or holding them back.
01:57 So it's just, that's the kind of thought process
02:00 he puts together in place.
02:02 And again, very collaboratively with everybody else
02:04 in the building that's involved
02:05 with player health and performance.
