00:00 How did you go about changing the vibe, the atmosphere, the mindset that existed within the program when you got there?
00:08 Well, I mean, I was the authentic me. I didn't know what existed, truthfully.
00:14 And I didn't really know, that was Thanos' theme song right there.
00:18 I didn't know exactly, you know, what it was like. I didn't come from the program. I didn't get elevated up.
00:26 So for me, it was to come in and be me, hire the guys that I believed in, and make it our program.
00:33 And where I am most grateful is we had an athletic director and a president that allowed me to do that.
00:40 And that's how we were able to make the significant changes we made in such a short period of time.
00:45 You've been very active on social media since day one.
00:48 Why did you feel like it was important to put yourself out there like that and promote the program via that channel?
00:55 Well, you know, it's 2021, and to me, that's the best way to communicate with not just our own students,
01:04 but potential students, prospective student athletes, our fan base, our alumni, and really anybody and everybody that wanted to listen.
01:13 I felt like, very simply put, we have an incredible situation.
01:18 We have an unbelievable university. We have a university that is very prideful, that wants to win, that hasn't won recently.
01:26 But I believe that we need everybody on board. And I've heard the old saying, you know, if you win, they will come.
01:32 And I always tell these guys, if you come, we'll win.
01:35 So let's find a way to get everybody in here. And we feel a social media is a great opportunity to do that.
01:40 When you say these guys, you mean recruits?
01:42 I mean everybody. Fans, alumni, media. You know, you guys can all come too, cheer if you want.
01:49 But, no, I know. But no, the fans, the prospective student athletes, the families and the alumni.
