The spotlight shines on Sharon Osbourne this week as she prepares to grace the stage at The Alexandra Theatre. I'm out here today to ask people whether they consider Sharon to be an adopted daughter of Birmingham and their thoughts on Ozzy being a cultural emblem for the city.

00:00 I think Ozzy definitely a Birmingham Icon. I think Sharon, yeah she had you know she
00:10 helped his career earlier on but I think she's riding on his coattails a bit. I think Ozzy's
00:16 a brummie through and through. Sharon, no. Well I'm actually from the north so I'm not
00:23 from Birmingham myself but I enjoy watching Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne I think
00:29 they're great. I think they're good entertainment. I think he's done a lot in his life both good
00:35 and bad some questionable stuff but I think he definitely brings a name to the city so
00:40 definitely. So do you associate Ozzy Osbourne with Birmingham when you see him or is it
00:46 more to do with the music? More to do with his music than anything else but I do know
00:51 that he is from Birmingham and I know there is an association there so bit of both really.
00:58 I mean I don't think of Ozzy Osbourne as part of Birmingham because I just like, when I
01:06 think of Birmingham I think just like pop stars really but I have heard of Ozzy and
01:13 he's quite a good, is he a singer? Yeah he's quite good I think I've heard a few of his
01:18 music yeah but I don't think he's a brummie or whatever you call it. Yeah I think that
01:25 she's now trying to become a brummie to the fact that he is known here at least and known
01:31 for being from. Yeah Sharon Osbourne I think could be adopted for Birmingham. Ozzy Osbourne
01:39 I don't automatically think of Birmingham when I see him. I'm not sure he's quite an
01:44 ambassador with his history of substance abuse. I don't really see much of him. Well I don't
01:54 know very much about her at all but it would be nice to think that she thought that Birmingham
02:02 was something to latch on to because we seem to have a pretty dismal reputation all over.
02:12 I don't really have any thoughts, I mean if she's a big name and people like her and it
02:19 does the city some good by all means but I'm afraid this is Osbourne of no interest. To
02:28 be fair I've heard of Ozzy Osbourne but I don't really know who he is or where he's
02:34 actually from or whatever. A fairly mixed reaction from the people here on the streets
02:40 of Birmingham however the city itself has proudly adopted Ozzy as an icon over recent
02:45 years. Plenty of tributes to the star including the much loved bull named after him. It would
02:51 appear that Ozzy will always be present here in Birmingham and Sharon will always be by
02:55 his side making sure that legacy continues for many years to come.
