00:00 The Pendle Sculpture Trail is on the outskirts of the village of Barley, nestled at the foot
00:06 of Pendle Hill in Aitken Wood. It's an area of outstanding natural beauty, steeped in
00:13 history with tales of the Pendle Witches that were hanged over 400 years ago.
00:22 On the trail you'll find bats, stone witches, mythical creatures and marvellous sculptures
00:30 and the witches each have individually styled tree plaques designed after them.
00:39 The trials of the Pendle Witches in 1612 are among the most famous witch trials in English
00:44 history. The twelve accused were charged with the murders of ten people by the use of witch
