00:00 Thanks Matthew. I am out of my comfort zone for that's for sure but anyhow we'll move on.
00:10 First of all I'd just like to say that not only on Australia Day but every day I'm a very very very proud Australian.
00:20 And accepting this award is somewhat of a shock because I'm the sort of person that sits around in the, or not sits around but hangs around in the background.
00:34 And as I said this feels a little bit different up here because I'm used to being down there with a camera.
00:41 But anyhow Dubbo, Dubbo sports people I don't think there's any sport that at some stage we haven't had a world champion, a Paralympian or Olympian, a national, state and regional and local award.
01:04 We've always had someone in it doesn't matter what sport. I think the only one that I can recall is either marbles or tiddlywinks.
01:13 That's about the only sports that I don't think that we've had a world champion at.
01:19 But I'm very proud to have seen so many of our young people and veterans and in their various sports achieve the highest.
01:37 I've followed them from when they were little juniors and now I used to give a treat to the balls, the ball people at the football or anything else like that.
01:55 And you know they were this high, now they're this high and this big so they get their own back on me now.
02:04 So anyhow I won't hold you up any longer. Thank you to those who nominated me.
02:11 Thank you to the committee for selecting me and as I said I accept this prize as a very, very, very proud Australian. Thank you.
02:22 [Applause]
