00:12 Saturday Night Live sketches that starred Jason Sudeikis, both during his tenure as a cast member

00:24 Number 10. Wilson Brothers Funeral Home
00:29 In this bizarre sketch, Jason Sudeikis plays one of a group of friends who reunite for their
00:34 buddy's funeral. However, in a strange turn of events, each friend unexpectedly meets their
00:40 demise, resulting in a continuous reunion of the surviving ones.
00:44 "Well, you know those mushrooms Judy brought yesterday? They turned out to be poisonous.
00:48 Paul ate one."
00:49 "Did Judy eat the mushrooms too?"
00:52 "No, no, Paul realized he'd been poisoned, and with his last ounce of strength, strangled Judy."
00:58 Throughout, Sudeikis is tasked with explaining the ridiculous circumstances of each person's
01:03 death to the Four Eyes character, played by host John Heeder. What makes this hilarious is how
01:08 none of the friends seem particularly concerned or sad at the quick succession of deaths,
01:14 until Sudeikis' character points it out, leading to his own demise.

01:28 Despite an abundance of gaffes and bloopers, Sudeikis never breaks,
01:32 managing to steer the ship to its elaborate conclusion.

01:45 Number 9. Science Room
01:48 Jason Sudeikis' long-awaited return as host featured this recurring sketch that had seen
01:54 slightly different iterations under previous hosts Sam Rockwell and Adam Driver.
01:59 "You know, I don't study this table all the time. Just periodically."
02:04 The central premise remains the same. A science teacher on PBS struggles to educate two
02:09 perpetually clueless kids about the solar system. Initially portrayed as an endlessly kind teacher,
02:16 Sudeikis' character gradually loses his cool as his students continue to respond
02:21 with the most nonsensical answers.
02:23 "This is planet."
02:25 "Hollywood?"
02:26 "No. No. Josh, this. It's next to the sun. It's very hot."

02:32 It's a genuinely silly bit, made all the more hilarious by how painfully accurate it feels.
02:38 In the end, Sudeikis takes out his frustration not only on the students,
02:42 but also on their parents, nearly breaking everyone in the process.

02:56 Number eight, the new boyfriend talk show.
03:01 Being interviewed by your girlfriend's son for his talk show about his mom's boyfriends

03:07 "We have something in common. We're both huge fans of mom."

03:12 "Oh. Yeah, yeah. No, she's a cool lady."
03:15 "Give me an example."
03:18 What makes it even more uncomfortable is discovering that you're the guest of his
03:21 100th episode. In this sketch, Jason Sudeikis plays the boyfriend, Mike, opposite an adorable
03:28 and impeccably timed Andy Samberg as his girlfriend's son, Zach. Since it's the 100th
03:34 installment, there's a special dedication to the previous guests.
03:38 "I'm the 100th guest?"
03:39 "No, no, no. This is the 100th episode. There have been about 130 guests, right mom?"
03:45 "Oh honey, I don't know. Sometimes I think you remember these guys better than I do."
03:48 This includes many random individuals, some of whom are wearing the same robe Mike has on,
03:54 as well as celebrities like Gene Simmons and Mike Johnson. Sudeikis doesn't contribute much
03:59 more than some concerned grunts and expressions, but that's enough to leave you feeling sorry
04:04 for his character.
04:05 "Oh no. Oh boy."
04:09 "So mom, who's our next guest today?"
04:11 "Wait, there's someone else today?"
04:13 "Oh yeah, we also got two bands coming."
04:16 Number seven, two a-holes in a live nativity scene. The main focus in any nativity scene
04:22 should be on the baby Jesus. That is, unless you're dealing with individuals as obnoxious
04:27 and self-obsessed as these two.
04:29 "Yeah, definitely plasma."
04:31 "It's gross, it was a chicken."
04:32 "Oh no, probably Jaeger."
04:33 "It's from my hairdresser."
04:34 "Yeah, but those boots don't fit."
04:35 "She looks like a rabbit."
04:36 "88 Lakers."
04:37 "I gotta go."
04:38 "Me too."
04:38 "Bye."
04:39 "Bye babe."
04:40 Jason Sudeikis and Kristen Wiig play the titular a-holes in this sketch,
04:44 who surprisingly volunteered to play Mary and Joseph in the scene.
04:48 However, quite predictably, the two prove difficult to work with. They arrive fashionably
04:53 late, remain completely engrossed in their phones and chewing gum loudly,
04:58 much to the frustration of the program's director.

05:10 While Sudeikis and Wiig excel at their deadpan delivery,
05:13 the true scene stealers are the kids in the donkey costume.
05:17 Such good dudes. They never even broke character.

05:20 "It was nice working with you guys. You good dudes."
05:29 Number 6. Anniversary Party.
05:33 Jason Sudeikis excels at playing the straight man in absolutely ridiculous sketches.
05:38 In this one, Sudeikis takes on the role of a man giving a toast at his parents' 25th wedding
05:43 anniversary. However, he's ambushed by a parade of eccentric characters,
05:47 who have a few words of their own to share.
05:49 "One quick thing. If anyone hears of any cops who need psychics to solve crimes,
05:55 please send them my way. I live above the bank. Thank you."
05:59 "All right. Great. Thank you."
06:00 It starts off pretty understandably with a cousin,
06:03 before escalating to a series of individuals who clearly don't belong at the ceremony.
06:08 "I'm going to be doing a meet and greet tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. everywhere."
06:13 "All right. Thank you, guys. Can't wait. Can't wait. All right. So, what do you--"
06:17 "Whaaaaaaat?"
06:18 Sudeikis may not be the most hilarious part of the sketch, but his skill lies in how uniquely
06:25 he interacts with each outrageous character. Plus, he delivers some impressive background acting,
06:31 especially when his mic is cut off.
06:33 "Karab Hussein Amabo."
06:38 "On an unrelated note, for anyone headed to the men's room, give it five."
06:43 "Okay."
06:43 Number 5. Main Justice with Jamie Foxx.
06:48 Just because Jason Sudeikis excels at playing the straight man,
06:52 doesn't mean he can't occasionally dip his toe into the realm of absurdity.
06:56 "All right there, all right there, all right now. Okay, y'all take a seat.
07:00 Y'all take a seat right here, right now. Okay? All right, here we go.
07:03 I'm about to serve up a heaping spoonful of Maine justice, y'all."
07:08 Sudeikis is nearly unrecognizable as a people's court-type judge in Bangor, Maine.
07:13 Or is it Louisiana? Indeed, the running gag here is that nearly everything and everyone
07:18 in the Maine courtroom seems plucked from the bayous of New Orleans. And no one finds
07:23 this more absurd than the out-of-towner defendant played by Bobby Moynihan.
07:28 "I'm not lying."
07:28 "Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Hey, next time you interrupt a woman in my courtroom,
07:32 we're gonna send you off to a lighthouse crawling with gators!"
07:36 "What?"
07:40 With each passing statement, Sudeikis ups the absurd ante, repeatedly threatening to feed
07:45 the defendant to alligators for challenging his authority. It's a ludicrous premise with
07:50 an equally ridiculous delivery from Sudeikis that eventually shatters host Jamie Foxx's composure.
07:56 "That's just how I like doing it down here in Bangor, Maine. Cause this here..."
07:59 "He's Maine justice! Give it to him!"
08:05 Number 4. 2012 Vice Presidential Debate
08:10 Every presidential election cycle brings with it some great and sometimes not-so-great
08:16 SNL political sketches. This one certainly ranks among the former category.
08:21 "I mean, if you went to the lowest circle of hell, you'd still be 45 minutes outside of Scranton.
08:29 I grew up there. I love it. It's the single worst place on earth."
08:33 Sudeikis dusts off his impression of then-Vice President Joe Biden,
08:38 squaring off against Taryn Killam as former Congressman Paul Ryan. Killam's performance is
08:44 so spot-on, it's almost creepy. But it is Sudeikis who steals the spotlight, playing Biden as an edgy
08:50 alpha male with an insatiable appetite for confrontation.
08:54 "Singing joy to the world as loudly and as off-key as I can. I accept the teachings of
08:59 the Catholic Church, but then, like most Catholics, I ignore them and do what I want, alright?"
09:04 Sudeikis interrupts and taunts his opponent throughout the debate,
09:07 as his statements get increasingly outlandish. Ryan even claims to have won the Olympics and
09:12 brings out Usain Bolt for validation. Sudeikis' portrayal is so comically exaggerated,
09:18 it reportedly unnerved Biden himself.
09:21 "To the young people out there who worry they're never gonna, never gonna see that
09:24 Social Security they're entitled to, I say, 'Don't worry, homies. Big Daddy Joe's got your back.'"
09:30 "Peace out!"
09:33 Number 3. Weekend Update - The Devil on Penn State
09:38 In 2011, Pennsylvania State University was rocked by a scandal involving a football coach that left
09:44 many deeply horrified. Among those was the Devil himself, or at least his portrayal on SNL.
09:50 "You seem upset."
09:51 "Well, yeah, of course I'm upset, Seth! I mean, I'm the Prince of Darkness, but I'm not a monster!"
09:56 Sudeikis reprised the infernal character on Weekend Update, expressing genuine shock when
10:02 informed of the allegations. No surprise that he had been in the dark, considering he is literally
10:06 the Prince of Darkness. Addressing the students who protested the firing of the head coach,
10:11 the Devil warned that their misguided actions would live forever on the internet,
10:15 his very own creation.
10:17 "Do you know how bad that made you look? All right, there were cameras there. Those
10:21 pictures go online and live forever. I mean, that's why I created the internet,
10:25 you know? So bad decisions would live forever!"
10:28 He then declared his intention to resign due to the pervasive evil,
10:33 and return to his old job as a customer service rep for Time Warner Cable.
10:37 "All right, this story sucks, okay? Evil isn't what it used to be, that's all I'm saying."
10:41 "What are you going to do now?"
10:42 "I'll probably just go back to my old job, I guess."
10:44 "Which was?"
10:45 "Well, I was doing customer service at Time Warner Cable."
10:47 "Oh, that makes sense."
10:48 Number 2. New Girlfriend
10:50 When former cast member Fred Armisen hosted the season 41 finale in 2016,
10:56 Jason Sudeikis also returned for a surprise guest appearance.
10:59 "Watch what happens when I kiss her neck. Watch this. Come here."
11:05 The two starred together in this sketch, with Armisen reprising his role as the intense and
11:16 snobby Regine, now the brand new girlfriend of Sudeikis' character Michael.
11:21 "We're being rude. Please have some champagne, we are celebrating tonight."
11:24 "Oh great. Moet, wow. What are you celebrating, averageness?"
11:29 As usual, this role just serves as an excuse for Armisen to unleash his craziest antics
11:35 and attempt to break everyone in the scene. This time, however, Sudeikis matches Armisen's
11:41 absurdity, going so far as to eat guacamole off the host's shoe after it accidentally ends up in
11:47 a bowl. Ultimately, Armisen succeeds in his mission, cracking up nearly everyone,
11:52 including the typically resilient Vanessa Bayer.
11:56 "Here, here, try the flatbread pizza. This is…"
11:58 "Flatbread pizza? What are we, in line at Legoland? No thank you."

12:25 When a couple sits down with their son's teacher for an assessment of his academic performance,
12:30 things take a weird and steamy turn.

12:36 "I mean, in what sense?"
12:37 "Tutor our son."
12:41 Sudeikis takes on the role of the teacher, who strikes up a flirtatious exchange with
12:46 his student's mother, portrayed to hilarious effect by Eggo Wodim. All of this intense
12:52 interaction unfolds right in front of the husband, played by a bumbling and increasingly
12:57 alarmed Kyle Mooney.
12:58 "What, are you gonna put me in timeout?"
13:00 "I don't know, you deserve it."
13:05 "You tell me, you're the one in charge."
13:07 "Say it again."
13:09 The escalating tension between the two keeps on building, with as many sexual innuendos
13:14 as possible, before culminating in one final forbidden outburst. Safe to say that poor
13:20 Skyler now faces a new math problem, a divided home.
13:24 "I'm not messing around, okay? I'm gonna count to three."
13:28 "Hold these, hold these."
13:30 "Okay, okay. One, two, two and a half."
