Detroit Lions left guard Jonah Jackson has been ruled out against San Francisco 49ers.

00:00 John, as you know, the Lions
00:01 line right now is not in the
00:03 best shape heading into the NFC
00:04 Championship game on Sunday in
00:06 San Fran. What do you make of
00:07 that being the case for the
00:09 Lions offensive line going into
00:10 this hugely important game for
00:12 the Lions? Yeah, Vito, you've
00:14 clearly seen what a healthy
00:16 offensive line represents and
00:17 means for the Detroit Lions
00:19 based on their running attack,
00:20 keeping Jared Goff upright.
00:22 This offensive line, when
00:24 healthy, comprised of Taylor
00:25 Decker, Jonah Jackson, Frank
00:27 Ragnow, Graham Glasgow, and
00:29 Pinesul among the best units in
00:32 the entire National Football
00:33 League. But coming after the
00:35 Bucks game, Jonah Jackson
00:37 unfortunately is most likely not
00:39 going to appear in the NFC title
00:41 game against the 49ers. He
00:43 could potentially, Dan Campbell,
00:45 did potentially leave room for
00:47 Jonah Jackson to potentially be
00:49 able to return with a week off
00:51 should the Lions defeat the
00:53 49ers and appear in the Super
00:54 Bowl. There's an opportunity he
00:56 could still return this season.
00:58 Frank Ragnow, an absolute
00:59 warrior. Man, you understand
01:01 all year long the work that he's
01:03 done to be able to play dealing
01:05 with a toe injury, had an issue
01:07 with his knee against the Bucks,
01:09 but did not miss any time and
01:11 really garnered their respect
01:13 because of the fact that
01:14 clearly he's a warrior. He
01:16 absolutely despises being taken
01:18 off the field, even though he's
01:20 probably most likely going to
01:21 play against the 49ers. You know
01:23 clearly he's not going to be
01:24 close to 100%. But listen,
01:27 Frank Ragnow, look, at this
01:28 point in time, nobody's really
01:30 close to 100% at this point in
01:31 the season. But you know, if
01:33 there's any opportunity for
01:34 Frank Ragnow to suit up and
01:35 play, he will because of the
01:37 passion that he has, the
01:39 motivation, and obviously the
01:41 clear, strong desire to live up
01:42 to the contract that he was
01:44 given. He's got that warrior
01:45 grit mentality that the Lions
01:47 are looking for. And so you
01:48 look at it and Coyote Abel
01:51 Sica definitely filled in, but
01:53 did give up some pressures, did
01:54 make it a little more
01:55 challenging for the offensive
01:57 line as obviously, you know,
01:59 he's a player that definitely
02:01 has a reserve role, can
02:03 obviously now take this week to
02:05 prepare ahead of facing a stout
02:08 49ers defensive line. It's hard
02:11 to replace what Jonah Jackson
02:13 can bring in terms of stopping
02:16 the opponent's rush and the work
02:18 that he does, the stout work
02:19 that he does in terms of the
02:21 ability that he has in run
02:23 blocking. And it's unfortunate
02:25 that that injury was suffered,
02:26 but the Detroit Lions will have
02:28 options potentially using the
02:30 young rookie in Colby Sorsdal as
02:32 well. But Abel Sica has been the
02:33 primary option that's been used
02:35 to replace any injured offensive
02:37 lineman. So moving forward, it's
02:39 a tough hit to take, tough pill
02:41 to swallow, but the Detroit
02:42 Lions will have answers in a big
02:44 critical game.
02:45 >> John, back to Frank Ragnall
02:46 really quick. He's a little bit
02:47 tougher, just a little bit
02:48 tougher than you and I, okay? A
02:49 little bit tougher. He
02:50 epitomizes that signature Lions
02:52 grit, too. John, thanks for all
02:54 Thanks for all the time.
