00:00 India is in a position where institutions are being created, institutions are being
00:09 empowered.
00:14 Indians want to be among the best, especially when it comes to science and technology and
00:21 research.
00:23 Why not contribute to the Indian quest?
00:30 But that's an individual decision.
00:34 You can choose between the comfort and the ready-made facilities that the US offers,
00:43 or you could choose between the chaos and the conflict.
00:48 Go for that.
00:53 As you go for that, be a part of the building a process.
01:04 It depends on your love.
01:06 That's why that was the first question I asked you.
01:11 What do you mean by love for the mother country in your own words and nationalism?
01:21 You must be clear about that.
01:24 What is a nation?
01:26 Is the nation really a valuable entity?
01:31 And if you know about nationalism, if you understand India, you'll also know whether
01:43 India deserves to be served.
01:50 And then the decision would be easier.
01:58 People don't return because they never belonged in the first place.
02:04 It's not as if they went away.
02:07 They were actually never here.
02:12 Just being coincidentally born at a certain place does not make you a native.
02:22 To be an Indian is a tough ask.
02:28 I do not think of India as having 140 crore Indians.
02:38 That's the population of the state.
02:45 That's not the number of Indians.
02:51 You want to have an official stat, you could say, well, demographics 140 crore.
02:58 That's all right.
03:01 Indians really, however, are probably no more than a few hundred alive, maybe a few thousand
03:12 and an equal number dead.
03:17 And these Indians are scattered all over the world.
03:23 Many of them have never even once come to the geographical position called India.
03:34 They are still Indians.
03:42 So you have to know India.
03:48 Just by being born here, you won't develop love.
04:04 You can develop some kind of an attachment to your territory, but that is not love.
04:12 An attachment does not have great power.
04:15 So when America lears, attachment is overpowered and people fly away and settle in the US.
04:27 I repeat, just by being born somewhere in India, you do not become an Indian.
04:36 You do not really grow love for India because love requires understanding.
04:46 To us India is mostly about cheering the Indian cricket team or sloveneering against rival
04:56 countries.
05:04 That's not what nationalism is.
05:21 If you just want to return to the place where you were born, there is nothing great or sublime
05:30 in this desire, this intention.
05:37 Being territorial is something all animals have.
05:46 All animals in existence have a certain feeling for their own territory.
05:57 So there is nothing great about the desire to return to your birthplace.
06:06 If India is just the birthplace of your body to you, then there is nothing special in India.
06:15 What is India really?
06:17 Figure that out and then you will know whether it is of importance to serve India.
