Chevrolet Pick-up Turned Into $100,000 Mega Truck
Motor-mad Ryan Camp transformed an old pick-up truck into the ULTIMATE racing vehicle. Ryan decided to build his own mud truck after attending events and watching other drivers compete. His truck, Sick 50 Mega Truck, can jump over hills and race through four-feet deep mud.The 429 stone truck started life as an old 1950 Chevrolet full body truck. It took Ryan, 35, from Georgia, USA, a year to complete his dream mud truck.

00:22 other. It's unbelievable. We have different events at every event. It's going to be the
00:28 most tiring. It's going to be tiring. There's hill and hole event. That's where we jump
00:33 the trucks, cross three hills as a timed event. There will also be mud drags where we're in
00:38 the mud, side by side drag racing. It's better than any drug.
00:44 00;02;00;00 >> An avid fan of mega truck events, Ryan Kemp from Georgia, USA, felt he could
00:50 no longer stay on the sidelines and decided to have his own competition standard vehicle
00:55 built so he could take part himself. That original truck is just a two-wheel drive,
01:01 low rider street truck. Bought it over in South Carolina. I made about a four-hour drive
01:06 basically there and back. Bought the truck, took it to BMF Fab. They begin the process
01:11 of starting the chassis. It took a whole year and an outlay of $80,000 for his 650 mega
01:18 truck to be finished.
01:19 00;02;00;00 >> It's a 1950 Chevrolet, a full-body truck. It's all steel. It has a 540 blower
01:28 motor. It's a 1271 BDS street blower. Runs on alcohol. It's got two and a half ton axles
01:37 front and rear. It has 20-inch travel Scott shocks. These are the 13.626BKT171s. They've
01:47 been cut and scooped for more traction. The rims are powder coated with a metallic finish.
01:53 It's got the full roll cage, five-point harnesses, special seats, everything about them. Safety
02:01 is definitely number one priority.

02:12 Mud Park a couple of weeks ago, they were just out playing around. They had done a jump.
02:17 And when he landed, he landed on two wheels. And that is probably the most nerve-wracking
02:24 thing is just knowing that there is a possibility that they could flip.
02:29 00;02;00;00 >> So far, Ryan has taken part in eight competitions. And today, he's driving
02:35 at Trucks Gone Wild at Bithlow Mud Racing in Florida, USA. Even before the event has
02:41 begun, his vehicle is attracting attention.

02:54 one all jacked up with all the different equipment that you don't see on other vehicles.

03:08 This is the tri-truck challenge. There will be a three-truck team.

03:44 great day overall. It was an awesome run. The teammates did great. It was perfect.
03:48 00;02;00;00 >> But the end of the competition isn't the end of Ryan's day with his pride

03:53 00;02;00;00 >> As soon as I get home I try to wash it as quick as I can. It comes off
03:56 a little bit easier. The pressure washing process and all that, I mean, it can take
03:59 anywhere from three to four hours to get it cleaned up.
04:02 00;02;00;00 >> This truck will never be for sale. It's just something I've dreamed of
04:05 and I have a year of my life and time and money involved in. I'll hang on to that one
04:10 and give it to my son.
