00:00 Former Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Jared Johnson has become one of the hottest offensive
00:05 coordinator candidates in the NFL.
00:08 But after being courted by multiple teams, he has elected to stay put in Houston with
00:12 the Texans.
00:13 According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Johnson wanted to finish what he started with CJ Stroud,
00:19 D'Amico Ryans and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowick.
00:23 Johnson landed his first assistant job with the Colts as an offensive quality control
00:26 coach in 2020 before becoming an assistant quarterback coach with the Vikings in 2022.
00:32 After joining the Texan staff, Johnson was influential in the development of star quarterback
00:37 CJ Stroud, who just completed arguably the best rookie season in NFL history, throwing
00:42 for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns with five interceptions, leading the Texans to a 10-7 record and an
00:49 AFC South title.
00:52 Johnson will now get another year with his superstar quarterback and will begin taking
00:57 his next steps under D'Amico Ryans.
